Alan Richardson or Gavin Brown should immediately be appointed senior coach Ratts can stay home and help look after his new baby daughter

Don't be silly - don't drop Ratts. Accountability should fall mainly to the players, at this stage. The players don't get a pass.

Ratts has earned the right to work his way through this. He has done so in the past couple of seasons. We all know the std expected: top 4. If this is not achieved, we should look elsewhere.

If we do look elsewhere, I reckon it is folly to go for Roos and probably folly to go for Malthouse. reckon Richardson would be a better choice or open it up to the next young gun in a robust interview process.

For now:
1) the team needs to have a closed doors, honest eyeballing meeting to decide if they really want this enough and if so, what are they going to do about it. No excuses, everyone knows we have the talent. We have to lift our attitude.
2) get rid of the fluoro boots and the poncy haircuts - I know it SHOULDN'T matter, but it just does.
3) lose the hubris - sick of the players sounding like they're cruising and saying "they're not worried". 4) Watch interviews with Geelong players. Watch Selwood attack the ball as if his life depended on it. Watch a bit of Dangerfield keep going like the Terminator until he is physically incapable of moving any more.
5) stop it with Kruezer as a key forward. He must follow the ball around. Either ruck an or Ruck-rover. he can rest up forward every now and then.

That's all I got for now.

Glad I didn't pay the extra on the membership renewal for the 'guaranteed' grand final seats!!!

Other teams have worked us out. Bottle it up, sit on Judd and Murphy and stop the ball getting outside to the runners. We don't have a 'Plan B' or if we do it doesn't work well enough to be noticeable to anybody.

Cant wait for Ratt's weekly email telling us how we were poor and didn't bring the right intensity etc etc, should be able to do a cut and paste job off last week's email!!

Love the way he's been a legend but

Too many "I suppose"'s in Ratts' communication.

*IF* they sack Ratts, then it should be done the right way...

Wait until top 4 is not mathematically possible.

Then make Richardson caretaker.

Let Andy McKay head up a thorough search.

Having said that, do you really think they will sack someone who takes us to the finals??

I just don't see it happening.

St Kilda did in 06 with Thomas, you honestly think if we finish 6th, and do what we did last year or less they will consider it ok?

I don't think so, Ratts is on thin ground.

"Finals" is nowhere near acceptable now. Its top 4 or sacked, but I'd rather just sack him asap as he's proven he can't motivate the guys when its needed most and his tactics are now useless.

Maybe if we played all our home games at the MCG we wouldn't be having this discussion.....

We're all p155ed off because Sticks paid lip service to due process and appointed his old team-mate out of thin air because Pagan was useless and needed to be replaced. The result of this seems to be a popular excuse for our current dilemma. Imagine my surprise then when I find a post that suggests the best way out of our current hole is for sticks to once again throw process out the window and appoint a new coach. Acknowledged that Brown is not a former team mate, but if the problem stems from a refusal to separate old fashioned parochialism from hard edged professionalism then how would implementing another knee-jerk make us any better off?

Isn't Brown our defensive coach at the moment? Clearly it's not entirely his fault, but he's got to take some responsibility for the fact that every time opposition teams take it into our defensive 50, they seem to be able to score.

Yes

Why would he not be accountable ?

Brown is not our answer

Let's hit rock bottom this week before the shit hits the fan

Due diligence is the the best response

Not angry hordes

I believe we have a lot of #1 picks on the list.
You'd never know it to look at the way they play.

Pretty sure top 4 is gone, despite it being mathematically possible.

Every line coach at the moment has a big fat question mark over their head.

Joyce Brown to take over as caretaker when they sakc Ratts.
