Based on Rattens history this will happen:

Out: Murphy
In: McLean

"we need to improve at the stoppages"

It's a new one this week, 'we need to play as a team'.

Should be a comfortable 5 goal win. 6 wins 3 losses.

Some serious changes needed at this footy club. We could well bow out of this season like a fart in the wind if we don't get this right immediately.

time to ditch the 2 ruckmen auto-setting we currently have installed.
drop 1, IMO hampson
Play Kreuze alone and use an extra mid/runner. worth a try
Use tbird or hendo for forwardline ruckwork
Not sure if we have had 1 game where both ruckmen have dominated and been a worthy tactic

Play TEX in the guts for 4 quarters.
Bring in Collins to play the medium forward role

out: hammer, curnow
in: collins, lucas

they can smell the blood in the water.

This is Melbournes line in the sand game.

Could be interesting.... if we go down to them.... it will be scary being Ratts.

beating melbourne this week will show us nothing! we lack the ability to kill games and the ability to win when are not on top. Look at geelong even when they are down and out you still know they will come back. When we get anything more than 2-3 goals down you know its all over. The big question is how do you get that killer instinct?

If we go down (which is possible, Melbourne have to click sometime) Ratts will be as good as gone. I would sack him straight away, but I doubt Sticks will make the call that quick, probably wait until we slip to 5-8.

Nearly 7 hours later and I'm still trying to fathom what we have become. Shaking my head in disbelief.

Melbourne have been woeful, barely competitive and have a percentage of 52.

Yet, in our heart of hearts, we all know we could lose.

I can't come to grips with that.

That is an indictment on our entire club especially the players and coaches.

What the hell has happened over the past 5 weeks?

We had a game plan/structure built on fools gold. It has been exposed as nothing sustainable.

As Warner Wolf used to say..."they went to the Video Tape" ... and other teams worked us out. We dont have any kind of 'Plan B' and not surprisingly everbody has now caught onto what Essendon*, St Kilda and now Adelaide did to us. I am not sure if Melbourne have the wherewithall to do it to us but if GWS can make it tough for 3/4 then I guess anything can happen. As much as I hate to say it, Hird and Thompson worked us out and exposed us as one trick ponies!

Our mids either aren't good enough at the stoppages or they're not going hard enough to win the ball to get the clearances - that's the first issue

Second issue is our inside 50's - completely ineffective ATM.

Third issue is our defenders, who are all (except maybe for Bower) horribly out of form.
