I went through our draw earlier in the week and had us winning 7 more games at most, the same ones you mentioned and maybe one of Richmond or Sydney (although at present we wouldnt beat either). 12 game will probably not get you into the 8 this year.

And if we win 12 and don't make then finals then obviously we haven't won enough to warrant playing off, and if we do make it we'd just be making up the numbers anyway.

That's footy for you. You take the good with the bad and get on with it.

Top four or not, 2013 will still roll around and it will be starting from scratch just like every year.

Simple as that.

If we do not make top 4 and Ratten is still coach at the end of season he has to go. Doesn't matter how much they have to pay him out - I believe he is contracted until the end of 2013? But if he doesn't get top 4 then he's just not the man for the job.

We have plenty of talent but also plenty of ordinary players. I don't think we are getting enough out of either at the moment.

Half a season watching how players perform under a new coach would be beneficial in decision making for 2013.

Ratten may have demanded top 4, but that alone is neither here nor there without winning the premiership. Unless we do so, we'll be starting 2013 just like we did 2012. The Saints are perfect examples of what it's like to achieve well but not well enough.
