I do now feel Ratts has taken us as far as he can. We look at such a low ebb losing to Melb or Port can't be ruled out.

Bottom line is we have been exposed as frauds, I feared this, was in denial about it but its obvious we need a lot of extra ingredients both on and off field to win a premiership.

This is when hiring a mate can bite you in the arse. Not a great thing having to fire a mate, if it comes to that.

It's as close as its been to happening since late 2010. Today was our worst showing since the Pies beat us 2nd time around in 2010.

He turned it around then too. Just about every supporters board I read wants to sack the coach after a bad loss or two so excuse me if I'm skeptical of emotional rantings.

We had out of form and terribly down on confidence, not to mention playing too many blokes out of form I do blame Ratts and the MC there as it makes blokes to comfortable in their position hence you get crap like this. 7 days ago we were confident of sitting on top of the ladder at round's end so the coach can't be that bad. Wheels have fallen off since sadly but we're not the first club and certainly won't be the last club for that to happen too then bounce back.

We learn how much we miss hard blokes Laidler and Carrazzo.

If Ratten is serious and truly loves the club he should step down.

Pffft. Every club has injuries, it's part of the AFL landscape.

I think the only emotion around Ratts is the fact that he's a Carlton legend, and no-one wants him to fail. Looking at the club dispassionately, id be surprised if anyone was comfortable with the performance of our coaches.

The first pumpkin out the door should be our conditioning coach.

We need brutes not movie stars.

If the conditioning coach is working at the directive of the senior coach, then they both should go.

I'm not advocating sacking him now, but of we don't get top 4 then that should be it.

If the injury list mounts that might give him a get out of jail free card.

Opposition supporters have been telling us Ratts is rubbish, it's not just us!

I just still find it such and amazing coincidence that when we went to appoint a coach we looked so far and wide and yet it was a former premiership player and B&F winner who was the best person for the job.

In the whole country.

That's just freaky don't you think?

We interviewed Chris Bond and Guy McKenna once each. Sticks then appointed Ratten. Not exactly a great process.

I didnt cre about thaat.

but i couldnt see how he was the most qualified.

Look he would have been ok for 2 years.

But right now.. we had to be beyond where we are

But thats the problem with the club.

Its average these days.

The sooner people understand that the better.
It doesnt get better.
Pratt wall papered some of the problems.
Matheson too.

But are these guys meant to get up out of the grave or wherever to continue putting band aids on us???

Were average!!!

Jyst face it!!!

Till things change....

Especially cuture wise

well you could ask Brisbane, Essendon*, Collingwood, Port , West Coast the same question and 3 out 5 of them are doing ok

We know what happened, but other clubs have done similar and been ok.

We have some decent pillars in place off field, I think the missing link is a top line senior coach.

In saying that I would give him until seasons end to show what he can do. Plenty of sides have come back from worse than this, if Ratts gets us into the top 4 and we give the flag a shake, then he will have shown he is a very good coach (especially if he has to do it without Murphy) otherwise time to get someone else.

There in lies the problem. Its 2 years later and we re still as soft at the ball as we were then, and still with the same structural problems and lack of KPP depth...
The fact that we re even comparing the team now to the team in 2010 shows that we ve gone backwards at a massive rate in the last 5 weeks...

Whats our game plan ? Does anybody know ?
Wheres our key forwards ? 3 years after Fev was sacked, and we re still having key forward problems. Having Thornton or Hampson as the main tall forward targets today was an absolute joke. Putting all our eggs in one basket with a bi polar player in Waite has backfired massively, and we ve failed to develop any young tall forward in the 3 years since Fev.
