Sounds great CK...can you swing by 1944 and pick up a mate of mine? Winston's keen to have a chat with Ratts.

The most significant aspect of the interview is sticks saying our time is in the next few years. We need to win a premiership this year or next
and do some serious recruiting/trading beyond 2013

One aspect , although not dwelt on by Mike Sheahan, was that there is a succession plan in place. As in (I assume) when the right person is available, Sticks will step aside. Not said emphatically, but that was my take on it.

Possibly.

But there's only so long you can remain president and still preface it with 'reluctant'.

John, I wasn't trying to rekindle debate on whether he should or shouldn't be Prez. Simply that Sticks intimated his tenure will end when the club gets the person they want to take over.

Nor was I. In fact I reckon that he wouldn't be human if he didn't want to be at the helm over the next few years as we enter our 'window'. He's done the hard yards so why not. Just saying that I don't know how 'reluctant' he actually is right now.

He seems to be doing a decent job anyway, and whatever reservations any of us have, I don't think there'd be a Carlton supporter alive who wouldn't love two Carlton champions in Sticks and Ratts to be at the helm when No.17 lands.

Yeah its stuff like that which motivates them to stay on and burn us.

Pretty sure there is a better coach out there somewhere and a finer president . More virile

Yes the reluctant El Presidente Sticks

Anyway... i didnt see it.. but im pretty sure there was some interesting and thought provoking stuff in that interview.
Always the thinker and a man ahead of his time.

Everything he has touched has turned to gold as an administrator.
Excellent chairman of selectors/footy director ... fantastic board member woriked on countless initiatives then vice president.. and now the crowning glory... El Presidente.. three or four years reluctantly
