Cons
- 2nd to the footy
- Completely reactive from the start
- Letting good ordinary players from the Saints look like stars due to their hardness and work-rate
- Forwards letting their defenders run up the ground unopposed was a disgrace. Jeffy that was your man time and again setting them up.
- Everything else that @#$% up on the night.

Pros
- Duck egg from me.

Regards Cazzesman

David Ellard - Let off the leash and showed plenty, put the star players to shame with his efforts.

PROS?
It is only round 7

CONS?
60 hit outs to 25. 37 clearances to 42. Why play ruckmen if this happens or is there another reason?

Reactive from the start. When we play well, we dictate the pressure and whilst I thought we did have forward line pressure in the first quarter, it did seem to dissipate.

More inside 50's with an acceptable scoring rate. St. Kilda's was not.

To me? It is all about the clearances/stoppages and we were appalling

CONS
The expression "didn't turn up to play", what sort of excuse is that. How about we just admit we aren't tough enough, often enough, we lack a quality in and under and a key forward. We still expect Juddy to do it all
jammo is looking like just a player
Duigan looks slow
AJ had a shocker
JR has gone backwards
Jeff G is struggling
We dominate the rucks and lose the clearances
Ratts explaining everything in numbers. He is not a banker explaining interest rates, he needs to explain things in human terms, show some genuine communication skills, and stop watching the game from the dugout. Take control, be pro active.
Gibbs is very skilful and neat, but we need him to be a star, and he needs to be more Selwood and less Houla when the ball is in dispute

PROS
Ellard showed a bit more grunt than most others.

How is this for sugar coating;

Second to the ball
A few players looked way off the pace
We missed 8 goals that I could have kicked
I reckon the Saints got every 50/50 decision on the night.
Judd (but even he was fumbly at times), Ellard and Hampson were about the only contributors
Poor night in the coaches box
The opposition played as well as they possibly can play

And

We only lost by 20 odd points

Didn't you just write in another thread that this group can't win a premiership?

every team is going to come at us as hard as they can - 'throw the first punch' as it were.

this is a con - we hate it.

this is a pro - we will adapt to it or fall.

Yes it will be interesting to see how we respond to that. Critical few weeks ahead for our coaching team.

week 1: we give away a record number of 50's and still lose but pretend we are not soft.

week 2: some players start to avoid looking in the eyes of Judd

week 3: hopefully we begin to show a change

week 4: see week 3

etc for rest of season - and yes I do not expect to win the flag this year. Because of this I wish we would drop the whole top 4 shit and concentrate on developing what we need to have a crack next year.

Cons: we seem to have been worked out... Get extra numbers to the contest and clog it up..Bombers, GWS & Saints have done this... Blueprint on how to beat us has been seen by all

pros: it's R7 and I am sure (hopeful) our staff is working on ways to beat this

The entire game.

Because it was Monday night, it ruined our working week and not our weekend.

Con - still seething lazy unprofessional immature and if we dont get top 4 then we will look back on this Monday night and say why
players dont seem to want it enough - same as Essendon* game but worse - symptomatic of this group see dogs game last year - see north game in 2010

still relying on Judd to carry us

back in pack of also rans
this group obviously like travelling interstate for finals because thats where they are headed after Monday night

havent played well since Collingwood game

kicking for goal - it has let us down for years
didnt read danger signs from last weeks crappy performance against GWS
wasted a monday night with that junk

Pro -Im going away mid season and wont see us be intimidated by Hawks in a similar fashion as the last 5 years

PEOPLE WILL NOW DISPENSE WITH THIS PREMIERSHIP FAVOURITE TOP 4 RUBBISH since the only decent team we have beat is Collingwood

We haven't responded to it over the last few years, why would that change now?

David Ellard shows how to go in and get the ball.

When Jezza was Coach; his mantra was KISS (keep it simple stupid)....see Ellard above.
