Found out tonight a few things.

1) Joesph, Russell, Duigan & Bower are not AFL standard

2) Jamison, Waite, Gibbs, Garlett all out form.

3) Simpson, Robinson, Betts, Walker do not get enough of it.

4) Touhy, Armfield & Curnow are battlers who try hard but would struggle to get a game at other clubs.

5) Judd is Carlton's only elite player.

We are crap at Etihad, need to regroup, play as a team, get angry and smart. Long season have to work through this.

Ryan i was actually telling the Princes Park Whistler today that We should win this game 90%... 50% should be a thrashing in our favour.

But we worry about that 10% ...we still have a phobia we can drop another winnable game to a shit side like StKilda.... and that 10% is what we lack to be a good side.

Anyway.. we drop another game we should win... and go further behind the eight ball.

Wont happen this year....

We will be lucky to finish top 4

*Carlton won the Hitout count tonight 60-25, yet of those 60 only 11 were to advantage...Something's amiss here

*Last week was their lowest disposal efficiency (70%), tonight it was 67%. Average of 73% on the year...Laziness

*Also the fourth week in a row that Carlton have lost the Clearance battle, despite being 3rd overall league wide for Hitouts... We've gone backwards

*51 clangers....are you kidding me? FFS

How did Bryce Squibbs go tonight? Cos fair dinkum he has been rubbish this season. More concerned about his hair style getting ruffled than winning a hard ball.

Carlton will smash the Cows next week.

The gut will sting tonight and they will learn some lessons.

Sometimes you trip up when you climb a mountain.

Dont think it matters about the money.
The motivation is lack of TRUE belief in this team.

Winnable game and all that... up in smoke...

We should never be worried about games like this.

We still have a fragility about us.

And some people are thining flags.

What we need to do is win TWO or THREE ding dong games against strong opposition where we outlast them by a cpl of points.

These bullshit wins against the Lions and GWS are not what we need to sell us belief.

I turned up last week when we won and said our premiership clock is at 1pm, we have an over rated midfield and no forward structure to speak of.......you want to argue I was wrong?

Seriously reassessing where this club is at. Don't know where to begin with what is wrong with us at the moment. Betts and judd were good. That's about it

OUCH. :-(
That hurt.

You take that back you big meanie!!!!! Your nuthin but a big bad bully!

Whatever!

I backed the Saints tonight for the very same reason that I backed Essendon*.........
- because we fail on the big stage. We had a chance to take the top of the ladder tonight, and i knew we'd @#$%&! it up!
- because at Etihad, we don't play our natural style.
- because we have passengers and WE KNOW IT! (Come on here and bag players like Russell and you'll get your head bitten off, but truth be told, Russell - and a few of his friends - are exactlly what 90% of posters on here say they are........... PRETENDERS!
- Because the Saints have had our measure for the last 10 years!
- Becuase we CAN.......but for some reason we DON'T.
- Because last week againt GWS we lost all the major stats that matter (ie: Clearences)

Give me as much shit as you'd like mate............... but be honest........ you know I'm right! This team is average at best!

Really disappointing. A few things to note out of tonight...

Since Carazzo got injured, we've lost the clearances in every game. We're really missing him.

Other teams have worked us out. Essendon* did it first, the rest have followed suit, including GWS. Two key areas:

1. We like to get the ball into open space. We do this primarily by switching play to the fat side across half back. Essendon* stationed players out there, so we couldn't switch. Freo, GWS and St K tonight did the same. When we had the ball in the back pocket today, St K had a line of 4 players along the other side of the ground. We had to kick up the line to congestion.

2. Bombing into forward 50. I've banged on about this enough, I won't again. Needless to say, opposition teams are playing 1 and 2 spare back, and it's killing us. We bomb, they spoil and sweep. We had more inside 50s tonight. Again.

Our game plan has been worked out. We have no plan B.

Our last trip up was no more than 3 weeks ago. Slow learners?

People bemoan what Essendon* did to poor little Carrazzo.
They were ruthless!!!

We just have a ruthless banner!!!

were soft, were fickle and were flaky.

The whole club is.. not just the team.

The toughest thing about the club is the supporters.

I want to know what the vision of this club is.
that starts at the top .... but it filters its way through every pore this club has.

The club is just bungling along hoping....

Hoping all kinds of things... but most of all hoping it wins a flag without any real thought and planning.

Are we still using the "too young" excuse???

Our players seem to hit a glass ceiling.
Not many of them crash through to the other side.
We survive on the idea of hope.

im not arguing against your belief that the team is crap

just dont want to hear wankers like you celebrating winning loose change on betting on the opposition and celebrating like that makes you awesome

That's one way of looking at it but 1 & 4 are basically the same thing. Regarding the flanker thing, we certainly don't get enough from those kinds of players. Too small, too hesitant and not fast enough to make up for it.

Went tonight unfortunately.
I was worried about the Saints talls and it was their small forwards that did the damage.
This group will not win a premiership.
Full credit to St Kilda, played really well.
I hope Steve Mcburney is never allowed to umpire another one of our games ever again.
Judd was brilliant, pity about the rest.
