This has been the most disappointing game in a very long time. We have all been waiting patiently over the last few years for the blues to become a real contender and give this premiership a shake. After the Collingwood game I started to really believe that this could be the year. After tonight, I have lost hope. We haven't been any good since that game and I don't see us finishing in the top four. My biggest concern is that our premiership window may close a bit sooner than we all expect. That would be a disaster. Sorry for the negativity. This one hurts.

3 weeks is not a very long time....

Closest to the pin until he arrives? I say about 11.43.

Pretty poor effort all round. Too many blokes not prepared to work except for short periods (generally coincides with when robbo or Kreuz fire up and start hitting bodies).

I think we had more scoring shots as well - definitely missed half a dozen set shots which were eminently gettable.

Just a poor game all round. Hopefully a few of the boys have a good hard look at themselves and come out and smash the Crows next week.

ahhhhhhhh........................perspective is a wonderful thing............yeh sure a loss on a Monday night - when the week has only started - stings.

but then again the reality of it all is that we were not good enough. our clearance work this year has been average to say the least.

until we get a better quality midfield we will struggle. carrotts is a big loss, cant expect scotland to go on forever and curnow.....well he has to go!

can someone explain to me, why, with such a good midfield, and our rucks winning first use of the ball, we are always being beaten at clearances?? It shits me to tears!!

biggest thing that pissed me off tonight was waiting until we were 3-4-5 goals down before we gave a sh1t and thought we could just flick the switch and get back into the game..

Can someone please shed some light as to why everytime there is expectation on us, eg playing for top spot tonight, it seems we crap ourselves...

Oh by the way, great call Recruiting department on not recruiting A. Saad.... :banghead: :banghead:

The fact rattan finally mixed things up once we were 6 goals down was ridiculous. Again he's reactive. You could tell in the first qtr the set up down fwd wasn't working yet he left it for 3 and a half qtrs. a coach should have more than a plan A. Waite and walks were useless, yeah delivery was poor but bring it to ground ffs. Still crying out for an inside mid to feed our stars. Curnow and robbo get alot but not in the area we need them to, it's still Judd and murph in the middle of the packs. Whether we give ellard and McLean a decent chance at it I don't know. We are getting murdered in the clearances and winning the hit outs. Our defenders looked slow all night which is rare. Our whole team wasnt pushing to make turn overs, looked lazy and not hungry for majority. Bower is to hot and cold, not reliable enough, so too Joseph and Russell. Hurry back Yarran, carrots & laidler.

Terrible loss. The top 4 just got a whole lot harder   (shades of last year when we shot ourselves in the foot many times).

We ARE soft, and all the decent teams will be praying to play us in a final. Grant Thomas said this a few weeks back on the tele and I said "flower off Thomas, what would you know"

Joseph is a joke. He has never had any skills, and is not AFL. Cost us plenty tonight.

Really missing Yarran and Carrots, but if we can't cover two players then we're crap. Waite's 3 year deal is looking like a joke right now. Duigan and Jamo had interrupted pre-seasons and have been playing too much catch up - it really shows and they are playing like B graders right now. Bring back T-Bird but no-one else to come in

Sadly, Bummers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Baggers. They crap on about "TRB" (The Royal Box) on Bummer Blitz, but it really does make our coaching box look pretty ordinary, and its starting to show.

I actually reckon we lost it in the first quarter when we had them on toast but couldn't go in for the kill. Felt so similar to the Scum game it's not funny. We are a mentally weak team and it seems that we either get to play on our terms and dominate, or get out-smarted and crumble like spuds.

Some serious soul-searching to be done both on the field and in the coaches box. I get the feeling that everyone thought the Scum game was an abberration, at least now questions must be asked.

Players must be dropped if not in form. I don't care if it means we lose this week as long as we change the mix and drop the players who are not performing.

Such a disappointing effort all round. A serious, serious reality check for the club tonight. Not sure we can rise out of this slump in a hurry, but it's a long season so at least we have time on our side.

I said after Essendon* that we won't win a premiership with ratten as coach, a reluctant president and half a board that are do nothing's. Dick got judd and the ground sorted out in 18 months and nothing substantial since. Tonight was another example of a coach who has no game plan, and responds to a bunch of stats that are meaningless if you can not kick efficiently and structure a forward line to score. The reluctance not to play kids eg booty given a quarter when you fill the team with list cloggers like Joseph, Russell who are not premiership players is mind boggling
