Ok, last time i checked we lost to the Eagles two times.. and they were coming off a wooden spoon.

Last time i checked.. noone expected Essendon* to make the eight last year or this year.

So the point is theyre not treading water right???

The Bombers have only played one big game in that time and they got smashed.
They are tracking pretty similar to last year, started on fire but struggled travelling interstate and when we got into the second half of the season.
This year they have travelled once and just beat Gold Coast and they can't even beat GWS.

Well i would have thought Essendon* against Carlton was a big game and not a flat track bully win to the Dons.

Yeah , they go alright......

Unless YOU think were a nothing game against the Dons???

Just go back and watch hard contested and hot games.

Carrazzo struggles with his disposal and his effective output.

Youre selling (especially Job Watson) short.

Hes an outstanding footballer.

Not many would choose Carrazzo over Watson.Watson was a massive turn over merchant by foot. He has just turned his career around and is an out and out gun.
He has improved every aspect of his game.. and is a monster inside.

You cannot compare Carrazzo to Watson.

Swan is not ordinary in big games. LOL

As for stanton.. what he does .. is he just runs and runs and runs.. and if it hurts .. he keeps pushing himself harder.

Probably something we need frommore of our guys.

You can compare them when they are opposed each other on the field. They are direct opponents.

I agree that we lack the Scums hardness atm and that shite5 me to tears too. But credit where credit is due- Carrazzo is a massive loss to our side. Jesus, we havnt won the clearances since hes been out. If that doesnt ring alarm bells as to how important and GOOD he is then he'll never convince you no matter what he does !!

ALA the infamous gary Ablett tweet against Freo, carrots not only takes you out of the game, he gets his own ball and hurts you the other way. He is a massive loss.....bigger than most realise.

I hate Ess BTW. Cant bring myself to hate Jobe, but the rest of them I can hate no problems !!
They are playing the sort of footy we wish we were playing. Running hard, tackling hard and playing as a team. They have got way more injuries than we have but are still coming up week after week and playing the same way......playing their game plan.

We, on the other hand, lose a few players and stuggle to play the same way 2 weeks in a row??? Bloody annoying.

May the media pump up Essenscums tyres. they deserve to be May premiers. Get out there and preach to the world Mark Robbo and the rest off your Ess posse reporters and pump em up!! They are playing fantastic footy FFS.

Love watching the mighty fall at the business end of the season !!

I aggree with Synbad in that we need certain players to lift.

That's not a dig at the players, because all of them (including the much criticized JR) have a role in this team. However if we are going to seriously challenge for the Premiership then they need to lift and improve.

Synbad mentioned Jobe as an example, and it's a great example.

Jobe was one of the worst kicks in the league. Just shocking. He knew that and he worked hard on his game to change that. I'm actually on him for brownlow this year. He is, in my opinion, in the Top 5 midfielders in the game now. Elite!

Some of the disposals I saw last week were in-excusable. I don't care who they are or how many games they've played! Your playing a professional sport at a professional level.............

I get what Sausage is saying, cause it's easy for us to come to a forum and pick apart the players weakness from the safety of a computer, but at the same time these players are paid good money to play this game and lazy and sloppy disposals is the difference between winning and loosing!
We're closer to winning a Premiership than we've been in decades......................

I haven't watched a saints game yet this season.

How do our current game styles compare? We seem to be holding the ball up a fraction more this year. Will we try to outrun them like 2010 or adopt a more controlled, possession type game?

Being such an important game for us it will be a fascinating game to watch as far as our game plan is concerned.

Carn the Blues!!!

Going to the game tonite, and looking forward to it.
I wish Yaz was playing, but not long to wait 'til he's back.

I'm fairly confident about tonight. We've played 3 fairly shiteful games in a row, with the third quarter against the dockers and the last against Gws the exceptions. My logic is that we are a much better team than how we've been playing an we are due to hit some form. Can't imagine us making 4 poor games in a row.

A fresh Judd and Waite back in (probably our 2 most important players imo) will be a great boost as will curnow.

The big factor for me is the lack of a genuine ruckman with Mcevoy out. They are talking about using Blake in the ruck at times (189cm, 90kg). Our boys are both 200cm+ and 100kg, they will monster him. Should make life easy for the mids

Saints are paying $4 for the win tonight, needless to say there will be some 'emotional insurance' put on by myself tonight

The one thing that annoys me about Carlton forums is how much everyone overestimates our side! Like how we all thought a 10 goal win was a given against the scum. Wow, what a dose if reality we got that day!

Tonights game wont be easy and if we stay complacent like the last few games, we might be in for another dose of reality!!!

Agree, if we dont pay the saints respect we will get beaten

Let me think ... it wasn't Richmond, it wasn't Brisbane, it wasn't Fremantle, it wasn't Collingwood, it wasn't GWS ...
And I don't reckon it's going to be St.Kilda either.

And that, my friends, will sit us on top of the ladder.
Not a bad view that.

Getting butterflies, but mostly eager. I have a very good feeling for us tonite.
Lucky blue socks pressed and ready to go.*
I must apologise for not wearing them to the Bombers game. Arrogance on my part, and it won't happen again. (contrite icon)

*When I say pressed, I mean, I pressed down on the table to fold them.

This year we have lost to Port Adelaide, Adelaide, Western Bulldogs, North Melbourne and Essendon*.
How is that for dressing!

Blake has a decent leap on him, and was back-up ruck during Thomas' reign. They should monster him though.
