Hmm. He'd be their on-field general, wouldn't he?

Sauce?

Channel 7 news.
Also mentioned that Bartel is late withdrawal too.

One thing Russell doesn't do is shirk a contest.

Some of our "better rated" draft picks are known to do so.

He is not an all australian player, never will be. But I believe he can contribute to the overall team.

Sometimes his best and his worst are glaring, so if he can close that gap, he will be a handy member of the group.

I'd prefer him over Nick Maxwell, for instance.

From memory, he was in contention two years back. You're competing against half the comp for a gig on the half backline, but his name was being thrown around.

I think he is a confidence player who will only get better if the body stays good and he can string a good run together.

Look let's settle the argument.

JR is clearly our third best HBF. That's impressive when he has a list of 35 flankers wanting his spot.

I'll help out with one. Gibbs. Prefers to let the opposition player get it and then lay a tackle instead of taking a hit. He's done it at least three times this season, including a couple last week and one against Essendon* (I think it was).

Garlett has been accused of it here but I think the time in question was where he tried to tap the ball over his opponent's head and run on to it into the open goal. Unfortunately he didn't get a hand on it and his opponent took clear possession and that was 'it' as they say.

Ive seen gibbs do that. I dont think he does it out of fear of taking a hit. I really take notice of him at the contest. None of the times i have seen him do it have resulted in attacking play for the opposition and each time he has kept his feet. I have seen carazzzo and judd do it too. Could be a high percentage play. The game is changing that much who really knows. I will continue to monitor. I love this stuff.

Either way Gibbs is having a great season.

Gibbs has backed into plenty of marking contests this year. That takes as much courage as any on the footy field.

With Fisher out, and Kosi in reasonable form, I wonder if they will play Riewoldt at CHB?
