If the stake was worth $500k on a legitimate valuation when he cashed in, there'll be no problem. It was worth $400k, then there's trouble.

If it was just $400,000, this would have come to light in county court. After all, Judd won the case to get his money plus $49,500. Pure speculation with the AFL reacting to news, instead of being ahead of the game. See Phil Scully. Ken Wood is really Johnny on the spot. It just took him three years to catch up to 2009.

500,000 in and 500,000 out means he lost money.

FYI, you don't necessarily get your money back in every business investment. Sometimes you actually lose dollars not just potential income.

This matter has already been dealt with by the court.
FYI, if that was an issue it would have been raised in proceedings.

I'm hoping it's all legit but what would the court care if Judd got back more than it's worth. It's not illegal to overpay someone for an investment.

I'm not saying there is any thing wrong with what Judd did, I'm just saying thats what the AFL is looking for.

Which for him, will be a Godsend, because otherwise people won't shutup about this like the Visy deal

The court would care if the defence lawyer cared.
Not sure if you up with what lawyers do but if it was a shonky deal and the defence lawyer had an opportunity to prove Judd and co were shonky business men which in turn improved their chances of winning the case I reckon it just might of got a run.

The AFL is probably just making sure, there was no special deal where Judd got more than he was entitled to from a Carlton board member.
If he did, then the club is in deep do-do

Damian Barratt brought this up on the Footy Show last night. If Richmond players were allowed to deal with their then president in real estate developments and the club given the allclear when it tried to find deals and employment opportunities for Ben Holland then the AFL would be complete hypocrites to act on this. How many WA players have investments with the mining companies?

Damian Barrett wrote the article on the AFL site too. Not making news anywhere else that I can see.

And just who are the signatories to Three Zebras?
