It's been over 30 years since we were going toe to toe with Collingwood, and there haven't been many great matches between the 2 sides since.

Us and Essendon* have a lot of recent history throughout the 80s and reached fever pitch in the 90s with the 93 GF and 99 prelim.

Now 2 men who participated in so many of those battles in the 90s are opposing coaches, and in the past decade there have been plenty of great matches, upsets, drama etc.

Basically for anyone around 30 or younger, the Essendon* rivalry has been THE rivalry.

Bombers fans certainly hate us more than the Pies, so feeling is mutual.

This fact would actually upset the Pies with their whole us against them crap.

Got to say I am leaning towards Essendon* myself.

After going out to dinner last night with usual group of Uni friends (we get together 3 or 4 times a year) and with one of them (who is Essendon* ) we have the a "Randolph & Mortimer Duke usual wager" on the outcome of Ess -v- Carlton games and we "settle" at our end of year dinner.

Last night the turd wanted his cash for Round 3 up front.
