Smurph - but surely is allowed a downer.
We need to stop playing Garlett/Betts as key position forwards and stop bombing the ball long to them!!!!!!
We need to either find another KP forward or leave Thornton & resting ruckman deep in the forward line = always!!!!!!
Its nice to have a key tall forward deep at all times but our gamestyle doesnt always allow it IMO. Talls have to push up to defend, create targets on the wings for the release kick when locked in their 50.
I dont care who they kick to inside 50 as long as it goes deep and as long as the ball doesn’t get swept away. If we can lock in a forward entry and compress then the goals will come. Playing in our half is the best defense.
Timing is the key to forward entries in my opinion. Quick enough to still have one on ones and space but slowed enough that we can still get numbers to the ball. Especially when they have spare men behind the ball.
