Best wishes to Sam, terrible news. Some posters on here might be feeling a bit ordinary right now.

It explains things but we are hardly likely to know anything about it. Don't use things like this to get at people you disagree with.

Well surely it is reasonable that the absence of a player for an unexplained but extended period should raise a red flag - and so any negative comments or reasons involving the player be put to one side and the player is given the benefit of any doubt ?

Fortunately for Sam - stage 1 testicular cancer is beatable - this is a cancer which is very curable if caught early. He has every chance of a cure and also the chance of a senior game in the future....

Good luck to Sam, hopefully if he does elect to include the Bleomycin that it doesn't affect his future athletic performance. It's a tough choice for young athletes that have cancers involving Bleo..do you have the drug knowing it might give you permanent lung damage, or do you not. Lance Armstrong elected not to etc. So many extra things that he would have to think about. Good luck to him.

Have to say I'm very disappointed with the lack of coverage this is receiving. But I guess Buddy's t-shirts, us resting a few guys and Judd having investments are far more important stories for the public at large.

Well, Sam hasn't played a single AFL game and no-one other than hardcore Carlton supporters would probably know who he is, so I think given that the level of coverage has been about right.

Tom Lonergan had barely played a game when he had a kidney removed, and the media were all over it. Anyway, it's a moot point, as Sam would be all over the papers if he had a booze cruise.

Definitely beatable.

And as Tommy Raudonikis said in his trademark gravelly drawl: "you only need one ball to play footy"

I had the pleasure of meeting Sam and seated next to him during the dinner when the boys toured to Kyabram,
on their Carlton Community Camp.

A true gentleman and great all round bloke !!!

I for one was really looking forward to seeing you play in the BLUE this season.

Good luck and best wishes Sam.

Will definitely look forward on seeing you in 2013.

Sam Rowe just popped into the club. He's in great spirits and extends his thanks to all members of the Carlton fraternity for their support.

I think thats the last thing he needs right now. Im glad for his sake he doesnt have a high profile just yet and therefore is having his privacy respected for a matter which couldnt be helped by publicity.
