I think we have to look at the big picture rather than the present or recent history, someone here mentioned Voss as a reason to hate Brisbane, surely them beating Essendon* and the pies in consecutive GF's restricts the hatred at the Lions?

Anyway, here is mine:
Collingwood - if I have to choose between sitting at a game when we lose to either them or Essendon* I'd take Essendon* every day. The roar is enough, the bombers just doesn't have the same hurt or crap feeling. Also if we had have beaten them in the finals last year by such a big margin I would still be celebrating. Just can't compare the two

Essendon* - having said that, I DID live through the 80's and the so called edge that they had on us. I'm still hurting from whatever year it was when we played them in the last round, lost and then lost the week after in the finals to them - it was in the 80's and I lost a whole 20c to an Essendon* supporter at primary school both times. They have always had small annoying players that just get on your nerves ALWAYS!!!!

Port Adelaide - just feral, similar to the pies in that respect, why are they in the comp again???

GWS - won't bother explaining, but I detest them, everything they stand for (or don't), all that they represent, plus they have the worst name in sport, who okayed calling a team GWS??? Will hate them less when they finally move to Canberra permanantly (wishful thinking). Didn't anyone actually request for this 'club' to be created???

Saints - pitiful history but act like they have achieved, ROT IN HELL

Agree we should get down on our knees and thank Brisbane for preventing Essendon* picking up their 17th (James Hird got a new hair style specially for it) Premiership and Collingwood's at the time 15th and 16th and would now be on 18.

St Kilda - epitomise everything I loathe in a football club. A history of the triumph of ineptitude, accompanied by a culture that could only dream of being good enough to be rated mediocre.

The '80's demonstrated what a pitiful institution the Aints are, when Lindsay Fox orchestrated the rip-off of players and coaching staff.

The supporters seem to have no recollection of the previous sustained failure for more than a century, and delude themselves that they have a record to match clubs such as ours.



Collingwood - 'cos they're Collingwood.

Essendon* - part jealousy, because they have been good innovators in recent years, and partly because they threaten our record of flags (although I always bear in mind they've only won fourteen Grand Finals).

Richmond - the '70's still haunt me.

Hawthorn - their colours alone are reason enough to despise the Mayblooms.
Fremantle - fast becoming the interstate equivalent of St Kilda.
