Just saw this via twitter:

@AFL: Sam Rowe has informed @Carlton_FC that he has stage one testicular cancer. Tumour has been removed and he will now undergo chemotherapy.

Best wishes to Sam, here's hoping he beats that @#$%&! disease.

That puts a few things in perspective. Hope the lad makes a full recovery.

Certainly does put things in perspective, in a number of ways.

Good luck Sam

All the best to Sam at this time. As buzz said stage 1 is good.

Look forward to seeing you play many games in navy Blue.

I hope all those people who have been bagging him and the Carlton football club on here for wasting a draft pick feel bad now. Heaps of people have been saying whats wrong with Rowe, he is not even getting a game in the reserves, what a waste of draft pick.

Obviously this is why he hasnt been playing, and hopefully he makes a full recovery and gets another chance at playing for the Navy Blue.

Good luck Rowey

Your frustration is understandable, but it's not really a time for taking potshots, as no-one would've expected anything like this.

Agree with Donstuie.

Can everyone make sure this thread stays true to the subject matter. Thanks.

Promising signs from Ratts...

@Carlton_FC Ratten: "Sam Rowe has stage one of testicular cancer. We expect him to make a full recovery. He'll undergo chemo over the next 6 weeks."

That would be great if he could not only make a full recovery but play a senior game.

Good luck Sam
