This should go well.

Quote:
Both companies have close ties with the Carlton club. While Mr LoGiudice sits on the Blues board, Sovereign was at the centre of a failed 2007 plan spearheaded by the late Richard Pratt in which Carlton-friendly investors would buy a portfolio of gaming pubs, the revenue from which would have flowed to the club. But by 2008 Sovereign was in need of a capital injection and its directors, including Mr LoGiudice, were seeking new investors, Judge Anderson found.

Am I missing something here?

Slightly concerned about other aspects of the story for other reasons, but otherwise I expect this to be a nice beat up.

They really can't go after Chris here due to the fact that a) he's done nothing wrong and b) there are many high profile sportspeople who have an association with the gaming industry and keep it under wraps. There are also others who don't keep it under wraps, but it's not exactly common knowledge.

James Hird is a case in point. He was a non-executive director of National Leisure & Gaming for 4 years. Shortly after Hird exited from the company the group announced to shareholders a deficiency in current assets over current liabilities of $207.47 million. But not before Jimmy had dumped his stock. Nothing illegal there either...nothing to see here...move along.

Judd loves to preach about green living for the greater good but then invests in an unethical industry responsible for tearing many families apart. Hard to take his work for Visy seriously when he's happy to make money from other peoples gambling.

Keep the personal attacks coming though

What does gambling have to do with environmental standards?

It's like me saying that you tell everyone not to eat McDonalds but wait a minute you don't mow your lawn often enough.

Dan has finally lost the plot.

Interesting that this is reported at the same time as the Milne cover up allegations and Buddy's terrible clothing ad..........but CJ is the headline item.

Knowing Judd he would donate any moneys made on the investment to various charities. Top bloke Judd.

The vast majority of AFL players work for organisations that own pokie licences, and make money from pokies.

it's widely known the club is bankrolled by pokies so not sure of Juddys need for anonymity in his deal
