Pre season Ratten has said that the club will look at what Geelong did last year, seems we are always copying other clubs.
Having said this is what we will do too then we have to rest players against good clubs too, just as Geelong did. We know that this is unlikely to happen.

Not sure why Ratten made that statement when that was exactly what we intended to do last year.
Geelong got over some close games early on and had no injuries allowing resting to ensue.
We didn't, hence couldn't, but the intentions were there.

if Waite gets rested one could assume that the 3 ruckmen trial is on the cards :?:

Waite being rested is fair enough. Wish we had a young tall forward to come in to fill the role. We really dont have many of them developing on the list apart from Casboult, Mitchell who are injured (Spewing as I am so looking forward to Mitchell finally playing a game).

Rowe is missing in action.

Bring Warnock in, and Keep Hammer and Kruezer rotating forward.

..especially against the giants, there's no need to actually bring in a KPF if Waite is rested, as it seems he may be.... ..Walker can play tall, and the resting ruck at FF with possibly Thorny as an extra tall fwd is plenty..

..that being said, IF the MC have any notion of playing 3 rucks together [with Krooz possibly CHF all game], this would be the time do trial it..

While I don't want 3 ruckmen playing normally, to save his the constant ruck bashing and crashing maybe leave Kreuzer at CHF/FF just for this game. Let Warnock and Hampson do the ruck duties.

Send Thornton down forward too.

We should play Hammer in forward line, 206 though the center & Kreuzer in the back line. Each ruckman has control over 1/3 of the ground and less work to do, so they don't need to be rotated on bench.

Probably need to swap Hammer & Kreuzer though as Kreuzer will get cold if he stays in our backline all game!

Hope so. I get testy when we don't blood youngsters, even if I don't think the youngster will play more than 20 games (i.e. last decade).

Blood.... SOMEONE!

Why won't Kevin Sheedy just dissapear already?
I wonder if he will put us on his 'list' after we belt them on sunday.
With all the concessions GWS are receiving in 4 years they are guaranteed to be a premiership contender. I hope he is moved on by then so we don't have to see his smug face all over the papers.

I hope so.

No Ratten wasn't part of that Brisbane Bears game. He debuted in Rd 22 1990. The Bears disaster occured in 1989 - Walls' last as coach.

Because this is so much different to what West Coast did the other week, and other top clubs have been doing for years. :garthp:

Dont get me wrong, Sheedy is right up near the top of my bucket of shit list, but he is doing exactly what he is up there to do. Promote the club.. and teach a bit of thuggery.

Amazingly, round 6 and it is GWS first game in Melbourne. Huge opportunity to get the kids in front of a big crowd and if the stars don't play the crowd are less likely to turn up.

Ignore him, go along to the game and watch him take the pumping he fully expects to recieve. And when the stitches come out he'll be back out waving his pink 'baboon arse' face at someone else.
