Looks as though we have Laidler going under the knife, also.

He will be out for about 3 weeks then? He recovered quite quickly from his first op after the NAB cup in early March and played Rd 1 in late March.

*cue cynics whinging about club medicos being inept*

Spoke to soon - confirmed as 6-8 weeks. :yikes:

Another one who was sent back out and now in worse shape than before. Not good at all.

Out for 6-8 thanks to CFC Facebook.

You want these guys ready for the run home. Better to have them on the sidelines now if they're going to have an injury.

Last year it was Kreuzer for half the year almost, Jamo and Waite.

This year it's Carrazzo and Laidler so far.

This just means Jamison and Henderson must lock down the D50, and Thornton with his sure hands is third man up.

It could be worse.

I said after the game on Sat that it had all the hallmarks of the wheels falling off….

A very bad loss compounded by long term key injuries.

I have a very horrible feeling that we’ll look back on this game as the turning point for when our season turned sour.

Better that the injuries hit us know rather than mid season.

Nobody wants injuries but with the raft of injuries being experienced by other teams ATM, I'll take the injuries we have had so far as all will be back and cherry ripe [and not the Clive James/Leanne Edelston :yikes: ] by the second half of the season.

Better to get it done now. His knee cap would just keep popping out if he doesn't.

We can still rack up some wins without him.

There are still 19 games to go.

Forgive me. Just a highly concerned nervous nellie.

I expect us to bounce back from a very sub par performance. Enough to beat Freo over here? Not sure.

But the long term nature of the injuries is a major worry.

FFS why does ratts bother saying he's 50/50 for the game this weekend. Who's he trying to fool? Or was he unaware laids was having surgery....

last year we narrowly lost to WC and nearly made a prelim. Kruez, Hammer, Waite, Jamo, Bower all suffered major setbacks through the year.....

it is 4 rounds in and we have a list longer than laids, walker and carrots

It has been noted that he was unaware at the time of the interview. It was announced later by Laidler himself after he left the surgeon.

I guess the danger is his kneecap just keeps popping out so they have decided to nip it in the bud.

Fair enough. Would rather get it done now, it's a long season. Just need jamo, hendo, duigan, bower, Thornton to stay fit and give us options
