BV, so my critique of Brock is adjudged as 'potshots', while your critique of Judd is merely 'telling it as I see it' ? :?

Juddy and the other mids had a stinker, but we know how good they can be - Brock is limited, very limited, and if we are a legitimate contender we need better than limited.

Go back and read the posts.
What I'm saying is, if you want Brock dropped because he doesn't have the capacity to chase hard defensively, you'll be dropping 80% of our midfield.
Including Judd.

A couple of points.

I watched Brock closely during the last qrt and he put a lot of work into hocking hitting him and laying a shoulder into him at every stoppage trying to get separation b/w Judd and him. Hocking retaliate at one point giving away a free. So lots goes on we sometimes miss.

2nd point regarding the Carrazo incident, can anyone recall who it was that slammed Gibbs into the ground during the final moments of last years final which resulted in a damaged shoulder and possibly to the loss against the wet toast? It seems to me we owe the scum some payback later this year

I'm with others, we had 3 quarters to payback on Saturday and did didly squat. Not good enough. Grow some arxivia and do it then and there. Yep still pissed off we let this slip and didn't capitalise on our good work!

Our ruck division were smashed, which meant our mids were not getting first use of the ball. Injuries to Laidler, Curnow, Carazzo within 5 minutes of the bounce threw our game plan into dissaray - hence all the finger pointing and lack of surity from an otherwise well drilled team.

Brock McLean is not in Carlton's best 22. We might not have a choice but to play him, but while we do we will continue to get exposed on big grounds like the G and subi... I really hope that we do not have to see too much of him this year.

We are a better team than Essendon* and I would not mind meeting them again this year.

Grant Thomas and Lloyd on Footy Classified last night would be a good one to post up wookie..

Basically they said we were spooked and weak and Murphs comments on Ch7 on Sunday were like a school boy saying I will meet you after school.

Nobody rates us. Other supporters don't rate us, all they say is we are quick that it. All you have to do is go in hard and we will melt like butter. There is a reason why we haven't won against the hawks for a long time, they like the hard stuff, we don't.

The HTFU award needs to make a comeback...

Don't think anyone is saying that Brock didn't try very hard or that he was the worst. His problem is not lack of effort it is lack of pace. He is the slowest player on the list which makes him a liability and means he can be easily exploited. Playing him in place of Armfield means swapping pace for slow. As a sub he needs to be an impact player. Is he capable of that? What role did they invisage? If he has a place surely it could be against Watson who lacks pace. He tried hard but his selection smacked of arrogance by the MC. The Dons thought we are soft and we did nothing to dispel that. We seem to have drafted athletic players. It's hard to remember an in an under we have drafted. All seem to have been rookied and we have yet to find a good one - where's our Swallow or Jordan Lewis, or Boyd, Cross, Lenny Hayes etc. In all those drafts with all those picks why did we never go for that type of player. Now we still don't have a quality in and under except Judd and we have no-one with an ounce of nastiness. Robbo is kamakazie which is great but we have no players who scare, intimidate or upset the opposition and when we were being pushed around there was no-one to fly the flag. Just love to have a Jordan Lewis or a Beau Waters. The rucks were very disappointing. Last week Jolly was nothing more than a jumping bag but when we can't win hitouts against Bellchambers it means we will struggle against other ruck combos and particularly ag NicNat and Cox. I am a Hammo fan but he had a very disappointing game. He is not and never will be a key forward, but his ruck work was average and he was back to his flying nun marking form. He has to start to use his great athleticsim. Its all very well to hear how fast and athletic he is, let's see it on the ground. Be an option, run away from Bellchambers, get the ball. Maybe the MC is not instructing him to do this. And lastly, Ratts show some authority, while Rome is burning, don't fiddle about in the back of the dugout, get upstairs to the coaches box, watch the game and take control, take repsonsibility call the shots, look like yoiu are in charge. There's no way he can see what's going on at ground level. Clarkson prowls between the box and the boundary and seems utterly in control. Ratts looks like a spectator. Why would anyone be concerned about whether he goes to PErth on the weekend, we can probably find someone else to sit in the digout and barrack. I like collective coaching o a point but in the end someone has to be the boss in name and action.

Could not have said it any better!
When it gets really tough in the contest, we go missing. Who is our extractor when going gets tough? No-one!
We got found out big time on Saturday and are not flag contenders. When the heat is on against better sides we'll melt. Teams that will beat us this year - hawks, norf, swans, eagles, etc. Groups with tough on-ballers

Unless you are privy to Comms between he and the box it is all just guesswork based on some TV shots. Does Clarkson look more in control simply because he scowls more. Perception based on the whim of the tv producer calling the shots.

Not sure I heard too much criticism of Ratts on the Bench after the Collingwood game.

Who gives a stuff about what other supporters think. Only winning changes that perception and then others still won't agree, so it is a waste of time trying. Having other supporters respect is useless if the Team doesn't win.

Further to that CMan, who gives a shit what other supporters thinks of us. Point of fact, I don't even give a shit what I think of Carlton. I only care about winning, and the possibility of it next week. Should be fun :)
