Old English ain't your forte, Jim.
The 'eth' on the 'make' substitutes for the 'do'.
I think you meant,
"Two players a team maketh not."
as in
"One swallow summer maketh not".

Nice try, though.

Sandilands is the key. I agree with Synbad.
He will win the hitouts and so we have to get back to roving to a losing ruck combo.

No need to panic after last week. These things are sent to bring us back to earth. Mick Malthause said that '...Carlton are still premiership contenders, make no mistake about that... '

It's the truth but we have to bring our 'A' grade game to the park every week if we are to stay in the top 4 and it has to start this week.

Just think at 1.45 pm Saturday the 21st April I was wondering if the club was going to release a 10 in row DVD like the Saints did a few years back now all of a sudden you are thinking we are going to get pansted by Freo this week -

Saturdays game was shattering it really exposed a lot of players and the club . I know Ratts was relieved of the match day coaching some time back but maybe he should have a bit more influence because the guys in the box were very slow to react and let him and the team down badly.

who have we got to come in
Walker - not likely hasnt played more than a 1/4 this year
Warnock- apparently rucked well and Hampson who was on fire went missing badly
Watson- not ready
Ellard - maybe if you want someone to have 8 tackles and 8 disposals
Armfield - maybe- he has been good but is he good to go
Rowe -cant get near it
Thornton - maybe thought he was stiff
Collins - could add some spark but goes missing
Russell- shadow of his former self
Joseph- for ballantyne only but suspect he is a bit to smart for AJ

all of a sudden this side that appeared invincible 2 days a go suddenly looks quite vunerable

It shits me - I preffered to be invincible

I'm glad I'm not one of the players, because I'm still seething so much that I wouldn't be able to think of the next one.

This one game, where I desperately want our coach to outcoach their coach.
My loathing of Lyon knows no bounds. He basically makes my skin crawl. Nay...even worse, I want us to beat them more than DS wanted us to win on Saturday.
Irrational I know, but there it is.
Please flog them blueboys.

I agree. Gary Lyon is a muppet on all accounts.

Bartlett has his digs and jibes, but Lyon is just a you-know-what. Kinda makes me happy that day over 10 years ago when I clocked him on the scone with a golf ball at a charity event in Point Cook.

I just want the guys to show the same intensity they did for the first 3 rounds.

No one's complained about us having to wear our clash strip this week. Things must be grim.

Out: Carazzo, Bower.
In: Armfield, Thornton.
If Armfield isn't ready I'd give Collins a crack, seeing as our midfield will need some outside spread on the bigger Subiaco oval, which we lacked against Essendon*. I like Thornton over Bower because he has the ability to go up forward. What Ratten is doing putting Jamison and Bower up forward is idiotic... He puts too much emphasis on players being able to play at either end.. Leave your best backmen in the backline you Muppet!!

If he's a Muppet, then he's a very manly Muppet.

Sorry

We were one forward light this week with the inclusion of Duigan for the past couple of weeks. I think the MC will need to get Thornton in as an extra forward option and then decide on match-ups / fitness whether we should choose between Duigan or Bower. Of course, this decision won't need to be made if Laidler isn't right.

Other changes - Armfield for McLean is a no-brainer on the big ground, Joseph will replace Yarran as a small defender if the toe injury doesn't improve, Ellard to come in for Carazzo ... and the final piece of the puzzle, does Curnow get another chance???

If anyone needs to be dropped ... the first one should be Lucas.

Possessions so far this year : 5, 13, 11, 16

Lucas has had 4 games to show whether he is ready yet ... the answer is no ... he needs a rest.

He is ready.
Once he gets a good 6-8 games under his belt he will prove his worth.
His first game he played 1 quarter. Give him a chance
Wouldn't have thought he'd be picking up 25-30 touches as a forward flanker, pocket type.
Right now I'd take Lucas over Collins who is probably his main positional rival

He has been servicable and will only improve

If we are genuine contenders, surely we will win this comfortably. They have a really good coach. They have Pav and Sandialnads (under an inj cloud). Fyfe has a broken shoulder and Hill is very promsiing but still young. Mundy is underdone, the rest are battlers. If they beat us then it is a very bad loss. And why we needed a 'wake up call' is beyond me. We have won one final in four attempts over the last three years. This year we have beaten two easybeats and Collingwood who didn't turn up. If we got ahead of ourselves based on that then the coaches must have serious communication problems or the players must be airheads. Get ahead of yourselves when you win a flag or two. Not when you win three games. The Dons were in our face yesterday. Other sides think we are a bit soft. We need to disprove that, not occassionally but every week. This should be a comfortable victory ag mediocre opposition getting used to a new coach.

This

Also, couldn't give a fig that the game was @ Subi, the boys love playing over there.

Just read on the a news thread Sandilands is set to miss 1-2 weeks with a calf strain. Yee ha

This will leave Zac Clarke to ruck, he is good i rate him but they lose him up forward now and their second ruck will either be Kepler Bradley or Jonathan Grififin

As long as Pavlich doesn't decide to wear his cape (which he usually does against us  ) we will be fine as long as we bring the intensity we had at the Collingwood game.

Then we won't need Warnock just yet.

That's because the MC refused to move Gibbs further up the ground, despite all the preseason talk.
