There's only about a dozen players on their list who you could categorically say are 'best 22'.

Hard to get a gauge from supporters as they over-rate so many, are always complaining about injuries and who 'isn't' in their side, and seem to have a heap of guys who have been around for years for such poor recent input which makes it hard to compare with some of their kids as to who should be in their best side.

Their 'senior core', of 50+ games include the likes of Prismall, Dyson, McVeigh, Lovett-Murray, Slattery, Reimers, Davey, Lonegarn + Winderlich who is injured. Too many crabs in that lot to make an immediate impact.

The next group of 25-50's seem a better crop which includes Melksham, Heppell, Hibberd and Crameri.

Duigan a late sub in for Henderson for today's @Carlton_FC press opp. Assured there's nothing sinister there. Hendo all set to face Hurley.

Not very often you support the Hawks but it would be good if they knocked off the Eagles this week

It is a possibility

In a way I think it would be better for us if the hawks go down. If we win we then go at least 2 games ahead of hawthorn, collingwood, and Geelong. It's all about securing a top 4 spot. That said it would be nice to be top of the ladder!

Top 4 is not great if we have to go to Subi week 1.
Should be aiming for top 2 anyway.

If we finish top 2 also, I wouldn't mind playing West Coast at the G on the last day in September out of all applicable choices..

I beg o differ...
From their possible best 22, they ll be without McVeigh, Hille, Lovett-Murray, Winderlich, Colyer and probably Dempsey

After watching McVeigh in the final last year, gutted that he's not out there helping us again. :yikes:

Missing McVeigh, would be like us saying that we are missing Mclean

So if Dempsey plays they are missing Hille, Colyer, Lovett-Murray (no more best 22 than a Russell or Thornton) and Winderlilch, whilst we have no Warnock, Walker and Armfield, yet AFL.com runs with "Dons depleted, but Blues still wary".

Ironically if we were no good, we could add White, Davies, Casboult, Buckley, Mitchell etc to our list and run with the depleted tag!

I'd still rather be top 4 and have shot at knocking eagles over there to go straight into a prelim as opposed to missing top 4.

But I agree top 2 should be the aim so we can avoid travelling. Again, hawthorn losing will only help this cause at this stage

Caught the end of the channel 9 news and heard something about Henderson sending a scare through the team at training. Anyone know if there is anything to worry about.

Probably need to look at the difference in output between these guys and the players replacing them.
Dempsey is currently in but if he were to miss I reckon he and Winderlich are the only players out of that lot that would provide a significant difference in output.

Agreed

Bummers have injuries... @#$%&!

Every single one of them is ordinary/average at best and a good side should be able to cover them.

We need to smash the bravery out of these excuse seeking scum...

Let them make excuses whilst we focus on accumulating the 4pts required in our quest for top 4.

Need to sub Judd or Murphy off in the 2nd half to give them a rest before the big clash with Fremantle next Friday night.

If they can get a lead early it might put a bit of wind in their sails

We need to get an early lead, don't let them play flee flowing rebound footy, and as the game wears on they will start to think about Anzac day and take their foot off the pedal

Yep.
