The club has released an official iPhone app! Haven't had time to check it out yet and see if it has anything worthwhile, but kudos to the club for at least getting on the front foot.

I may be wrong but I haven't seen or heard of any other clubs doing this as of yet. On the topic, what do people think of the tv shows the filth and scum have going? Are they a good idea? Should we be looking at doing this?

So it might be shit - 'but well done!' Not the first - I think we're about the 5th or 6th to do it...all within the last few weeks for a few clubs.

'The Club' and 'The Hangar' were very good. They've followed the European Football club model with this. I would expect Hawthorn and the big interstate boys to follow, but it all depends on $. Wouldn't know what plans Carlton have.

This is a derivative of the new AFL app, as evidenced by the layout, though points to them for making a compressed install to save over 50% on the download. Nothing special, as all the clubs are doing it. Nothing interesting on here either. Points to BigPond for finally getting around to making a stable app, but I wonder how much they'll have it downloading.

Worse still is that the AFL app requests permission to be able to dial numbers, and the CFC app requests permission to send messages. Look out for any service requests, as it might sting you with more than 25c messaging fee.

So who is the developer of the apps Jim? The clubs themselves or the AFL through a third party?

Sorry didn't see this: I presume it's Telstra who at the very least do the ground work.

With the official ruling in, this is a goal that might become a famous part of AFL folk law.

:folk law:

To be fair the article was written by Matt Thompson, AFL media, but it still made me lolz.

Only Carlton would have a woman named Voula as the contact.
