These are very exciting times for our football club, and we've really built ourselves from the ground up.. We have great depth, lightening quick speedsters which are central x-factor to our clubs success, a powerhouse midfield and a solid line up all over the ground... And a hungry team that works well for each other and has high ambitions.

I'm loving and soaking up the way we're playing, as I remember too well just like probably all of you the dark days when we hoped we'd win a few games, to now where we expect to win every game....

Along this path lets not forget the trash talk we heard from rival supporters when we were down and out, broke and just plain ordinary football club. We are back, we've arrived as a club, let's keep this ruthless football going and let the opposition fans know we're back and we're having the last laugh right now...

If and when (hopefully) we win a flag in the next 1-2 years, they'll know that they were playing against the famous old dark blues!

Go the mighty blue boys!!!

Kruezer to shut those scum supporters up who are saying Ryder is a better footballer than Kruezer.

The mere sight of their craptastic wank-fart supporters turns my stomach.

Carlton will destroy this mob of should-not-breeders.

On this occasion the deserved response following victory is to ignore the opponent.

It's only Essendon*.

Right now they don't count for $hit.

Challenge is out to Donstuie to match this...

I think only the term "fertilized turds" after "arse drones" is the only thing that could improve it.

Wonder if we have one tall too many down back still.

Bower for Russell seems the likely one if that were the case, but think Bower would be a good match up for Crameri. Not like a shortage of options there though.

Another option would be perhaps to swap Bower for Warnock, play Hampson forward the whole game with Kreuzer pinch hitting. Force them to play Hurley down back would be a win for us.

I'd reward McLeans consistent form and bring him in at Bowsers expense.
As much as I love Paul B, Essendon* at the G is a good opponent to include Brock. Increase our midfield options.

Hi Scummers

I wont troll, and be up front and say I'm a bombers fan. I always enjoy the banter around here when the two teams play, and this week is looking to be no different.

Looking good you boys. Easily the in-form team in the comp right at the moment, but it is only round 3, so keep your pants on just a little. Having looked around the forum, two things really stand out:

- The Ryder V Kruezer thing.
Really? Really?? The general consensus here seems to be that Krooz is WAY ahead of him, and it's ridiculous to even compare the two. That's just silly. I actually think the two are pretty comparable. Sure, you could make plenty of arguments to say Kruz is ahead of him. But you could easily argue the other way around too. I reckon they are pretty much a dead-heat. Kruezer is more likely to have a better career, but at the moment? Nah, they are pretty even. Paddy is in very, very, very good form thus far.

- The Carlisle Hate
I'm surprised you guys even know who he is. I hope your whole perception of him is not based on Walker's mark last year. Sure, it was a good mark. Easily in the top 15, nah, top 10 marks of the year  Carlisle is tracking very nicely for a skinny KP of his age. You guys would love to have him.

Now, onto the game. There is no doubt that if you guys are switched on and bring your a-game, we shouldn't trouble you. You're in better form, are virtually full strength (we're not) and seem to have the recent mental battle against us covered. But, you'd only just have to be slightly off - and slightly ahead of yourselves - for us to cause an upset. While logic would say we are no chance... this is Ess V Carl. We all know anything can happen on a sat arvo at the G

Personally, I can't see an area of the ground we can exploit you. The only guy I think we have who is a difficult match up for you is Crameri. Yeah, yeah, you're gonna say Duigan, or Laidler I know. But he's very strong overhead, and very quick at ground level. I reckon Duigan might be still a bit underdone for him. But we'd need him to kick 4-5 to have any chance.

Your 'Mosquito Fleet' (that is lame by the way.... Setanta's little helpers was much better) has troubled us recently, but the addition of Hibberd and Dempsey (still may play) is a much different proposition to Slattery and McVeigh. This is one of the big keys to the match right here. Dempsey must play for us to have much of a show.

Rucks (as discussed) are pretty even. Both teams have a strong ruck division, and they should all nullify each other.

I wont pretend that our midfields are comparable. They aren't. While I know Hocking can do the job on Judd (and has, plenty of times now), it's Murphy who we struggle to nullify. If he is BOG, we can't win. Question to you guys: Do you put Carazzo on watson straight up, or start him on Stanton and move him if Watson starts carving it up?

Hurley is still a possible trump card for us. He has actually started pretty modestly this year, but he has still managed to impact games despite not playing well. Heaven help the team who cops his 'back to form' game.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll flame away in typical scum supporter style  , so I'll leave it there. I have quite a few mates who are blues supporters, and the rivaliy between the two teams is one of my favourite aspects of following footy. As a bombers fan, despite being 3-0 we are not under any delusions as to how we are travelling and neither is the side. The question remains though... are you guys?

Go Bombers.

Need to be on our game coz Scum will come out fighting. It's almost like they had their minds on next week when they played GC

I think the blues have been very clever with this one. I have always liked to play as less tall players you can get away with. Run is our strength and the more running players the better as you can sustain the pressure longer and imo we score more off that and defend better off that (game played in our half) than we would having extra talls.
2 marking forwards, two tall defenders and two rucks (one who rests forward). The problem with this is that if you get an injury you are stuffed or if someone in the opposition gets ahold of us the options are not there. The Blues have invented a bit of a modern swing man position. One which Thornton plays well. One which Bower and Jamo had turns at last week. This position does take a bit of run from us but gives us a bit of unpredictability and insurance in case of injury to a tall during the game.

I am liking the coaching panel this year. Dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

Only lame because you don't have snipers and thugs on your list like Carey and Merrett to make sure at least one is carried off on a stretcher.

Blues have done well to make their talls versatile in the Sub era. Bower n Jamo alternating btw back n fwd, Hendo n Waite can do both, Hsmmer n Kruze can go fwd. tBird also versatile.

We have beat this mob by 12 goals the past two times we have played them.

We are now a better side than last year and we will win this game by 10 goals +.
