While out and about today I have been amazed how many people enjoyed watching Collingwood get belted last night. For some weird reason we have gone from being the 'cheaters and tankers" of the footy world to the knights in shining armour that have finally defeated the hordes from Mordor.

Anyone else experienced this?

Hopefully it won't be long until we're hated for our success again.

Head over to Big Footy (or BomberBlitz) if you want a different perspective!

Really?

Most supporters of other teams Ive encountered are still saying we got lucky, Collingwood have injuries, peaking too early, etc.

At the SANFL game today, the Bay dudes I spoke to were happy for a Carlton win. Nearly all Glenelg supporters have a soft spot for the Blues due to Sticks, Macca, Gibbsy etc etc

Mixed for mine. Most happy to see the Pies get belted on one hand, but quick to point out that we arent as good as we think we are on the other. A lot of amusement at the Malthouse/Buckley implosion, my 15 yo son has been getting joke emails about it all day!!

Sorry guys...all I get is "tankers, cheats & best of all - April premiers"...I feel the hate and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Although I must say Collingwood supporters bumping into me have certaintly been aware of Friday night.

Just look smug and say nothing. It scares the shite out of people when you don't react to the rubbish. They hand it out all decade and can't understand why you don't want to behave like a 10yo as well when it's your turn.

How many more clubs can we ruin this season? Massive question marks over the Tigers after round 1, calling for Voss' head after round 2 and boy oh boy, look at what we did to Collingwood in round 3.

Stone Free makes a good point.

If I had to choose in the the resulting aftermath of Carlton wins this season between:

a) Carlton gets talked up as a great team and flag contender

or

b) Whoever we beat is a rabble and set to implode any day now

It's b) by the length of Yarran/Jeffy in a foot race over anyone else in the comp.

I'm currently in an office surrounded by Richmond supporters:

Prior to rd1: "Carlton are GAWWWWWNNN. No backline, no forward line, Jack and Tyrone to mark everything. GAWWWWNNNN!"
Prior to rd2: "Nah, Richmond are just shit, it's no surprise. Brissy is a danger game, they looked good against the Dees"
Prior to rd3: "Typical Carlton, beating up crap teams but falling over when it truly counts"
Now: "Carlton will win the flag this year"

I've got Hawthorn & Collingwood supporters surrounding me...so similar to above, but the last one reads "You'll be Top 4 easy...but you won't beat Hawthorn"

I told my Collingwood supporting work colleague to put his pay cheque on Carlton +39.5.
He told me to get [REDACTED]!
Sheesh how much of a chop out does he want?

The Essendon* supporters I know are strangely quiet.

We could probably beat the Hawks if they're not trying.
