That it does. Undeserving of the axe at this point.

After watching the game first hand last week I really liked bower! I think he brought a lot to the team and worked really hard.

I am surprised to see T-bird out, only query is if our forward structures will hold up but as they are down Tarrant and have put in maxwell, im sure it will be fine.

Thorton unlucky
Nearly at 100% capacity

No excuses

I agree but in regards to Duigan, yes he's in our best 22 when fit and firing but no way is he an automatic selection.

Bower & Thornton don't deserve the axe at this point but we all knew one would have to make way.

That said, we have a hell of a team on paper... no excuses

Thornton in our best last week. His 1%ers brilliant...but you know Duigan will give his all...just hope he's good to go.

Perhaps Bower will spend more time on the wings. Looked promising higher up the ground in praccy matches

Without Thornton we need more marks inside 50.

agree, we structure up better with t-bird, if Waite gets beaten, what then ?

Thornton v unlucky. in fact that could be the best a Carlton player has played to get dropped the next week for more than 10 years.

Looks like they did not want to sacrifice any run and it was choice between Bower and Thornton.

With Henderson, Bower, Duigan and Laider down back reckon there's a good chance Jammo is going to spend some time forward as he did at times late last year.

Armfield better keep providing an option forward of centre then, otherwise it's a poor choice to give him another run.

Worst possible use of Jamison I can think of. Would rather have him playing ruck than doing that again.

Why? In the second half of the Hawthorn game he looked like he had been there all his life, except he kicked at goal like a true Carlton player. He leading and contested marking there was terrific. While it's not alot to go on I have no problems playing him the at all. They're not going to play all those other blokes in defence and Jammo. Someone's heading forward.

Look at the side that was named and you can't help but think as a group it can only get better and better!

Go back a page and you'll see I put down Laidler and Henderson as good options. You do not put an AA defender into attack, particularly when (as you have correctly pointed out) he is not a reliable kick for goal.

Not that it means anything
