I have to admit, surprised to see the praise for Carrazzo's game.

Disposal by foot, barring when the heat was out of the game late in the last, was shocking, even by his standards.

Yarran's goal was bloody exciting.

Give me Armfield's goal in the first quarter as a result of Tuohy's beautiful kick in and Simpson's gut running as the highlight of the highlight reel any day of the week.

That was inspiring stuff. Reminded me of Porter to Bradley > goal way back when.

Twelve goalkickers was a big tick from me.

And taking the wind out of their sails yet again.
And with us having no backline and all !!!

Pro: Knowing the angry old gnome Kevin Bartlett would have been getting all excited about a stirring comeback, only for our guys to wake up and easily blow that away.

Pros:
Being able to watch the game on the big TV (now we have one).
The win.
Armfield's ability to break free from the first tackle and then sprint away. His speed reminds me of Alex Marcou who was very slippery over the first 5 metres. He is in our best 22 for mine.
Winning with not much of a contribution from Judd, Scotland, Robertson, Waite or Betts.
Hampson.
Yarran.
Kreuzer.
Hendo.
Garlett's tackling and blind shooting for goal from impossible angles.
Throw in several others, including Lucas.

Cons:
Getting up at 2:00 in the morning to watch it.
Goal kicking from set shots. Eddie used to be reliable but now he is erratic. Waite has always been a worry. Thornton runs to the left goalpost and so he hits it. It's bloody obvious.
Having to wait another week before we play again.

Pros:

A win to start and we where rusty
Other contributors in Bower, Henderson, Armfield, Touhy, Hampson & Curnow
Kruezer fit
Hampson continuing to improve
Kick ins
Judd, Murph, Robbo, Scotland will get better
Grigg getting frustrated in last qtr

Cons

Delivery into fwd 50
Goalkicking
Waite Report

Pros

The concerns over our fitness levels - dismissed
The concerns over our March form - dismissed
The concerns over Gibbs playing off HB - dismissed - again
The concerns over Bower - dismissed
The concerns over ever worrying about anything KB says.

Cons.

I'll leave that to the rest of those who are concerned about such things. :smoking:

Pro. Cleared the cobwebs last night. Still some things for the coaching staff to isolate and work on. Easy game against the Brions to do that before the BIG game against the Pies 8 days later.
Paul Bower - under the pump but did the basics very well, disposal was good and very disciplined performance. Moved in front of Russell last night.

Massive Pro:
- Ratten finally realising that Jordan Russel is absolute poison on the field and making the substitution with a guy who deserved to be starting on the field. Lets hope he remembers this!

Pro:
- Hampson's marking
- Kreuzer's marking
- Bowers defense
- Lachie's defense

Con:
- Jordan Russel being poison

Yeah, that's probably fair. For me it was more his effectiveness at shutting down Cotchin in the 2nd qtr that had an influence.

Pro: Lucas coming on and nailing the pressure shot at goal when we were under maximum pressure from the Tigers comeback. Especially after our senior players were spraying them. Well done Kane.

Yep, that was a brilliant effort.

Pros;

Distinct lack of passengers last night. JR was a bit off, but everyone else had some stand out moments where they held up their end for the team. Armfield, Curnow, Bower, Zac, Hammer - they all had their moments. A true contribution from the '2nd tier'.

Murph is a beast. Gets stronger as all else around him tires. Phenomenal last quarter.

Before Gibbs settled back he was destrctive in his mid/forward role.

Kreuzer was a colossus.

Simpson and Carrazzo did the business... again.

Yarran = superstar. I think he can get a little bit lazy with his disposal and decision making at times, but when it comes together he is the most exciting player in the comp.

Teams are terrified of of Betts and Garlett. Richmond coughed up goals last night purely out self imposed pressure from having those two in the vicinity.

Cons;

We clearly have an instruction to kick down the line if there's no immediate option. That being the case, it wouldn't be a bad idea to ahve someone in that particular spot as the release valve and to at least force a stoppage. Too often early on we were kicking down the line and no-one was there to force a contest. Something was falling down.

Waite - hmm... I don't think he'll go, or if so it will be one, but he keeps putting himself in stupid situations, and we need better from him.

Zac Tuohy has a cannon for a leg and at Etihad will make the Centre of the ground with his drop punts, Jeffy G, Eddie and Dennis Armfield  , will have a field day running on to these kicks. :smoking:
