Love Kreuzer but I don't see him as irreplacable.
Hampson and Warnock feeding the mids won't have us too far in arrears.

We have no one to cover or marshall the troops down back with Jamison out.
Loved his work right back to when he had Thornton and Bower alongside as he always gelled the back-line boys in the way Maxwell does for his side.

Right now Waite goes a long way to complete our forward structure and for the reason I have him second.

Murphy and Judd thereafter.

Yeah I'd suggest our inside mids, and our KPPs at either end seem to be at the top of list of players who need to be kept fit. Brock has afforded us a little depth in the bubble, but not much.

Our most valuable player... probably Judd & Kreuzer. In full flight, they add another dimension to our play.

Mitch Robinson. every week his attack on the footy sets the example for the rest of the team to follow. without him we are pushed aside too easily

Gibbs in my opinion....if he can carry on from his form from the second half of last season....he makes a big difference to how we are going to travel....his versatility is the best part of his game especially when we have the luxury of being able to play him forward of centre....

Kreuzer's like a bigger and harder ruck version of Robinson.

Good luck to anyone who wants to get between him and the ball.

Our list must be in great shape if Kreuze isn't irreplaceable. :sly:

Robbo to our midfield.

Kreuzer to our rucks.

Garlett to our forward line.

Jamo to our defence.

Waite. The only player on our list who can play key forward at present. The only player who can consistently take big overhead marks.

Jamo second, as mentioned not only for the role he plays but the role that he enables hendo, duigan and Laidler to play

Jamo well down my list - but I'm a little biased.

I think if you have Michael Jamison in your top 3 - you overrate his importance to the side and perhaps even his football ability.

Jamison and Laidler are the leaders of our backline.

If you were to make a list of our most overrated players, then Warnock would have to be at the top. The media and opposition fans think we can't cover for him. I rate his tap work, but the pairing of Kreuzer and Hampson are more complete footballers. They push back and help out the defenders more than Warnock who lacks size and intensity. Warnock hasn't gone forward and taken a good grab in a year.

Mitch Robinson.

Hardest nut we have in the middle of the ground, it was interesting to note that the midfield was lost without him at the start of the 3rd qtr re Norf. Mitch also didn't play in that poor Weagles Etihad performance last year.

The barometer of our team.

Our ruck division performed well enough without Kreuzer and would continue to do so if he wasn't there.
That's not to suggest that Kreuzer doesn't add value elsewhere, but the primary role would be well covered.

We have no one to cover for Jamison the player and Jamison the leader, down back.

100% agree with you Harker. Simply no replacement for Jamo in our side.

I think I misinterpreted this question, but I'll go ahead post my initial answer anyway:
Bower / Lucas.

I'm probably thinking more in terms of who I think will be most likely to give us sh*tloads
more in 2012 than they did in 2011. My hunch is that both those blokes are going to turn it on in 2012.

(I suppose you could argue that the same rationale applies to Kruezer as well).

I think the Garlett comment holds weight.

I think if any "given" from last years 22 is in danger of losing their spot, its him. Was deplorable in the last two months of the year, and seems to have carried a Lindsay Thomas-esque slump into the preseason with him.

A return of anything less than 30 goals this season from him puts us behind the 8 ball considerably.

Most important - performance of our bottom six
Most valuable - Robbo.

The most important/valuable player this year will be the bloke who can get us playing like a champion team, not a team of champions.

Someone who will lead the way, inspire, do the 1%.

Someone who will rally our defense, make sure no-one is at a contest being out-marked, being scragged and bashed at stoppages.

Someone who will fly the flag for the navy blue, no matter what.

Someone who doesn't give a $h!t how they look on the big screen after they give away a free kick, or kick a goal.

Who will that be?

My tip is our structure, our passion, how bad they really want to win, no matter who is playing. Being ruthless, never giving up, aint over til the final siren sounds, no weak links, chinks in the chain.

We either work together as a team, as a club, as a culture, no matter what 22 take the field.

If we want to win a flag we must be serious about it, not saying things like, "If Davies, Collins, Bower McLean etc are playing we wont win a flag, we have to believe that we will, they have to believe that they can!

That will be our most important/valuable player this year.
