Whilst I'm a huge fan of Jamo & I truly believe flags are won based around your backline & it's key personel, I'm sensing the big Kruz AKA Humphrey could be the huge difference.

This boy only knows one gear, Nab cup, practice game or a 4 point game the lad has a real crack, his passion & enthusiasm for the contest is unparralled & I can just see him leading by example all year & setting the tone for the boys.

He's my most important player for us in 2012, can ruck, rover & kick goals & has a genuine crack everytime he crosses the white line.

Stay fit Humph, can't wait to see u having a great year.

I agree. Kreuzer. I'd add Henderson into the mix as well. If he can hold down CHB and improve on the form of last year we're solid down back. Jamo well down my list - but I'm a little biased.

There are a lot of players that need to stand up but IMO you still can't go past C.Judd. Has the ability to carry the side and lift them when needed. Has that special talent that not many have.

Going out on a limb, I'd have to say C. Judd.

Sure, a giant needs all working parts..but in the end, no head, and it's just an out of control monster.

oh..hang on..I think I'm mixing this up with the Dr. Who ep. last nite.

no..really Judd.

Yep, Jamison for me too.

Not necessarily for his output, but for what he brings to that dreaded cliche structure.

A fit Jamo means we're not filling a pretty important gap with a player that is preferred in another position/role.

Back to the original reply, I think Kreuzer could be up there as a player who can have a big impact in helping to elevate our game, but we need Jamo fit and in form for September.

I think if you have Michael Jamison in your top 3 - you overrate his importance to the side and perhaps even his football ability.

Can't let this side. Without injuries last year, Jamo would have been AA.

AA KPP = very important.

Top 3 as follows:
1.Jamo
2.Waite
3.Warnock

I think if all 3 of these play the majority of the year we will be a massive show. Funny how the 3 most important are probably the 3 most injury prone in the side. just hope we can manage them through the year and have all 3 cherry ripe come september. No matter where we finish if they are firing come the end of the year, we will do damage. Best 22 as good as any but falls away very quickly from there.

For mine it will be the player who steps up from our mid-range players as the most improved, like a Mitch Robinson has down in the past, I am looking at someone like Zac Tuohy.

In pure football terms they're probably not the three most important guys. But in an arse about way it's the fact they are injury prone that makes them important. Of course, there is the role each individual brings to the team, but if they're missing it's what the team loses by filling their roles that hurts us.

For example, Jamo out, but Waite in. Chances are Waite will play in defence and we lose attacking flair and presence.

We uncovered a beauty when Henderson went back and I agree more development and improvement from him will be a big plus and we can ill afford to lose him either. He's clearly a solid defender with great attacking run in the making there.

Maybe one of our younger talls will get the chance to step up this year and help provide the playing depth we need.

Pretty much anyone in our squad above 6ft. Keep them on the field FFS, not in the stands or rehab.

Most important - Henderson...Need another defender who can stop a number two forward such as Dawes kicking goals and ragdolling someone like White again.

Most valuable - Gibbs...Can play anywhere we need him.

I know its not exactly the answer for the question asked but the most impotant/valuable players are the fringe players that come in and out of the side to do the job asked for a limited time and pressure the regular players to break back into the side.

Apart from that crap :

Waite fit, in form and no brain fades.
