Happy the boys came back but disappointing they put themselves in that position to begin with -- conceding all of those unanswered goals is very frustrating. All in all, it's been a very disappointing preseason. I thought the whole point of going to Abu Dhabi and Qatar was for us to get a head start to the preseason. Doesn't seem to be the case but I am sure guys like Jimmae and Dr. Sherrin who understand sport science better than me will tell me that the benefits are later down the track.

Let's face it, we spent all pre-season prematurely declaring our greatness and how we're destined for glory and the reality is we are not good enough. We will lose r1 and with all our premature ejaculation of top 4 we'll put a sh!tload of pressure on all of the club.

And just quietly, I think we may have seen the best of Judd. I think the load he's had to carry has taken its toll.

Never write off a champion... but this club is doing him no favours...

We get smashed in the midfield if we have to rotate away from a couple of players.. or theyre quiet.. and teams can kick a few very fast cos we cant push players through as support to stem the bleeding.
Only takes a few minutes and its massive damage.

Al the fast , skillful tall defensive midfielders (AKA half back flankers ) you accumulate are no substitute to having players that can get their hands on the ball first...
We have camouflaged this deficiency because Juddy is a champion... but th other clubs are rolling massive numbers through this area and wearing down our few

In the end we will find periods of the game where we will be getting overwhelmed... and thats going to be enough of damage to make us feel the ouch!!

Gee Marci that's not overly positive.

I happen to think we will win in a real close one.

If Waite can kick straight we will be fine..

The first half was what looked to be our first choice 22 leading into Round 1 with perhaps the exception of Davies.

Robbo, McLean and one other (Thornton??) we're replaced by Lucas, Joseph and Watson. Lucas was the best of those three so he could be right in contention for Round 1.

Murphy was very quiet for three quarters and then had a massive last, when he fired we appeared significantly better. Similar with Simpson. Can't underestimate the resting of Robbo. Brilliant first half and he is quickly becoming vital to our onfield attack.

Poor first half by Hampson. Improved a little in the second half.

Kicking for goal was atrocious. I can think of four out on the fulls off the top of my head.

We seem destined to continue blind kicking deep into the forward line.

What are you on about?

Wonder if North supporters wanted Ben "We're top four" Cunnngton's head after they trailed in the first half.

Only Carlton supporters are reactionary.

I commented on this a couple of weeks ago. When are we going to get some sort of game plan there?
