Only going off updates on twitter, bf and here but expected a helluva lot better today.

Officially worried.

We will likely start outsiders round 1.

Where are the Kids? why aren't they playing for a spot in the team in Round 1?

Truly pathetic that we waste our time playing the likes of Joseph, Russell , Bower, Davis & McLean.

That's 5 Spots that should have been given to some of the new promising kids we have seen earlier....

It looks like our injury Toll will give us a Slow start to the Season. Its not the Score that matters in pre-season games but it is the attitude and commitment. These boys havnt shown they want to be part of a winning team since the Start of pre-season. It's a worrying Sign...

I really do hope they are taking us all for fools and will Swich on once the real thing begins :(

Like everyone else I am a bit concerned, we are clearly behind other sides at this moment in time.

Im thinking of a few possible reasons.

1. The obvious, we are just underdone, focusing more on peaking later in the season.

2. Because of injuries our strategy of going softly softly into R1 is backfiring, with too many players with too little game time.

3. Without the big guns firing, our next tier isn't as good as we like to think.

4. None of this means anything, and it will be business as usual in R1.

Last week it was stated we would learn more this week so the question will be - What have we learned?

Today we decided to practice what to do when you have a quick 8 or 9 consecutive goals kicked on you..

I am hoping for 4, but thinking 2 is a big factor. Trying to do what Geelong did last year is fine, if guys aren't getting injured.

Hopefully we can continue on what we did later in the 3rd quarter.

The Last week of practice games is When the Coach picks his best available 22 and gives them a final Hit out. All other 17 teams have injected some new blood and given new players a chance to be part of the real deal. Only Carlton has insisted on playing Crap players ( the 5 I mentioned earlier) instead of saying to some of the kids that have impressed we are going to play you Round 1 and see what happens.

I think Ratts Strategy is continuing from last year. He Believes that all new Kids must spend at least 5-6 weeks in the VFL before even being considered for AFL Action.
