Second hand info:

1. a. Walker has a quad strain. b. Robbo has hamsting tightness. (Nothing major to either of the boys)

2. Jamison running a little behind schedule but was sighted running hard on the track.

3. Warnock is running but is not being rushed. McKay has already stated that he won't be there come round one.
Only specualtion beyond that.

See if you can spot the notable out from last week's squad:

McCarthy, Carter, McInnes, Kerr, Armfield.

Assuming they're not resting him, not great news for Dangles (terrible nickname).

I'd say dropped. He was very poor last week IMO.

good stuff harker...but not great news..

we all know how good our midfield is...but IMO a large component dictating how well we go this year will be the ability of jamo and waite to stand up.

Not great signs to date....both running well behind schedule.

Mysterious type injuries which seem to take longer to heal than first thought.

from all reports, both have missed large chunks of pre-season and our 3 practise games to date.

Nearest the pin for others....How many games combined will Waite, Jamo and Warnock play this year ???

Anderson saying clubs can use 29 with 7 being able to be subbed at half time but only 22 to choose from in each half
It is a bizarre system as the 22 include two subs

No idea but for the fact we did need to pare back the numbers this week, so someone had to miss out.
The players closest to getting senior matches and in need of a run, must take priority leading into the season.

Dependant on availability of players next week, he may get another chance with someone like Dale missing out.
Like seeing the kids, but the seniors must take priority.

Pretty sure i heard Greg Swan this morning say Watson would also miss this game. Did not hear a mention of a replacement.

Useless fact: Bummers play in Wangaratta

Bummers went to Wangaratta for their end-of-season trip in the mid-50's when Bob Rose was coaching up there.

A little off topic but I also heard Swanny say that the blues have permission and will be streaming next weeks game in maroochydore back to the Carlton website as fox is not showing the game.
Awesome concept and gives us diehards something to watch....... And no Derwayne!

   :thanks:

Disappointing. With Buckley available for the LTI list Carter should be given an opportunity to backup his good form over a four quarter match.

He may not get the chance next week either.
We must play Walker, Judd, Waite, Robinson and Duigan, with White and Heyne possibly getting a look in, also.
Swann did say though, that we'd be resting Gibbs, Murphy and Simpson at least. Imagine Scotland may join them as well.

You would have thought Matthew Watson would have been dropped after his awful performance in Adelaide. Naming him and then advising he is injured and will miss saves Watson from public embarrassment.

I would have liked to see Carter and McCarthy given another run as they showed promising signs last week.

Armfield has been rested and is a certainty to be named in the side come round 1.

Armfield a certainty for round 1?
I doubt it very much. Didn't show anything new through the pre-season and his performance last week would not have endeared himself to the coach.
All that aside, we have too many in front of him right now doing a better job.
