Probably be about 40+ at that time of the year in the city of churches :yikes:
nice big open ground to test our young fellas' fitness - we'll win that fixture

If it's particularly hot we'll get ice vests, cooling fans and freezer trucks for the players, as well as two more on the bench.

Hopefully we win this one and progress further on. It's hit and giggle but the youngsters get to play at a higher intensity than what they would perhaps force of themselves in the regional comp.

Hopefully we win, so we get to see them on tv for another week. Otherwise I don't care all that much.

Think all the NAB Cup games are televised this year.

All the pre-season/Nab Cup does is just dilute the expectation of Rd 1.

I guess coverage of the Brisbane game depends on where the game is held...

just listened to Paul Williams interview

- back 6 set and won't change much
- trial different forward structures throughout the practice matches to find the right mix talls & smalls
- Tuohy really surprised him with his strength and skill
- JR no set role as yet, will trial in a few different roles
- Waite, Mr Maturity these days, marriage agrees with him, deserved leadership group

I reckon the practice matches this year are 'must see' to get an idea of what we're cooking - get along if you can

Interesting he said back 6 set and that JR has no set role.

If JR is in the back 6 of your best 22 you might want to move him.

not sure of the setup, but as long as,
collins, mclean, casboult, carter, lucas, mcInnes, watson, mCcarthy,
kerr, bell, heyne, bootsma,
bower and rowe all get some game time.
not long to go

36 degrees forecast for Sunday, so expect large squads and a stack of rotations.

As much as we try, you'd think it will be really will be difficult to gauge much from this hit-out.

The only thing worthwhile on Sunday will be to see how Bootsma and Buckley aquit themselves.

And Hampson, Kreuzer, Murphy, Gibbs, Kerr, Lucas, McInness, Carter, Bower, Russell & Casboult. And any other youngster or player pushing for a spot in the 22, recovering from injury, etc.

There's plenty to watch for, even though it probably won't be much of a spectacle.

Anyone know a good central pub (Sth Melb to Hawthorn incl city) to see the game at? Would go to the game but for NAB games TV is a good option

It's an excellent choice considering the games are in Adelaide. ;)

We may just have to take over some of the Northern Blues boys to make up numbers.

It will be good to see Bootsma and Casboult in particular.
Others worth following will be Kerr, Bower and Lucas for me, although there really is very little to take from this type format.
