What I took out of it

Krueze.... Mobile and looks set for a big 'un.

Lucas. Fit and doing the right things.

Carrots is in out best 22

Maclean seems fit and he reads the ball well off the rucks (his and opposing)

Curnow did well.

Hammer's getting closer.

Carter can kick a ball.

Just a hit out - no more, no less.

Not that it's necessarily a bad thing if the case.

Pretty par for the course, yep.

Forgot about Curnow, thanks Danny: he was also in good nick and looks to be back in form after a pretty poor second half to last season.

Where were you, Jim?

Don't know who you thought Yarran was. Bower looked fit and in touch (yes, he did get caught HTB). Sugar got a stack of both the ball and encouragement (did have a few clangers). Peterson did some nice things as a ring in, and Kreuzer smashed someone in a tackle in the last.

Was on centre wing in the Pratt Stand, just in front of the first set of boxes.

NFI who the guy was either; looked like him, but ran like a snail. Peterson was decent too. The tackle victim was Bransgrove.

Thanks jimmae, harker, dannyboy et al for the reports. Despite the apparent lack of wow factor, still great to read.

I was planning on getting down there myself, but got dragged into a meeting at 9.00.

Watson is on the team lists, but hasn't been mentioned by anyone. Did he play? If so, what postion(s)? How did he go?

He features in Uncle Johns photos, will need a couple more to tell how he went

Just OK, did alright in the body work, didn't look particularly quick getting after the ground ball and looked great in possession. Needs more work on his acceleration & contested marking.

We learned that Curnow's great start to 2011 wasn't a flash in the pan. He played for the light Blue side in the first half and had the ball on a string.

We learned that Kruezer, if he can stay fit, will be an absolute gun and fulfill his promise as a no.1 pick. His hardness at stoppages, at ground level was exceptional.

We learned that Bower is on the way back and the club made the right call to not get rid of him (in hindsight the choice between he and Irish was a no brainer).

We learned that Sports Bet having Lucas as favourite for the Rising Star is justified, he was prolific and carried the ball well.

We learned that Casboult is fitter and continues to improve every year. He is the sort of player whose improvment can be measured by how he looks in these summer intra club hit outs. He looks 5-10% every time I see him in such games. On today's performance he wouldnt be totally exposed if he played seniors this year, and I'd expect him to arrive in 2013. Remember he is still a young KPP.

There's a few interesting shots of Judd coaching the midfield group for team navy. And some muppet from Getty has snapped a VFL top up player thinking it's Kerr.

Wouldn't mind hearing about how Kerr performed from anyone who caught him, didn't have enough time to work out where he was.

We also learned that a line cannot be totally put through Brock just yet.

We didn't learn that Watto can now match it body on body against the quality fwds in big games, but by jingoes he looks good. Strong, smooth mover (though not quick), and exceptional kick. Kid needs time and confidence against top teams but I am very confident in time he will be a beauty. he has nous that you usually don't see in such young tall players. justified first pick at 18 IMO.

Oh we also had confirmation Gibbs doesn't takw these intra club games seriously at all.

sorry one more thing, thought Collins had a good hit out. Best hit out he has had for the CFC thus far. Made a few blues but had plenty of it and did some nice things. One lovely left foot kick under pressure on the wing. Kid showed a bit IMO. Needs some continuity to see if he is any good or not. But didn;t go backwards today that is for sure.
