Renewed our 4 memberships today.

Woohoo, free cap. :donk:

I passed on some things to the nice girl in a similar vein to my posts in the "Members voting rights" thread, which i hope she passes on to someone who doesn't have cloth ears.

Renewed my LD membership at the ground on Friday. The Membership DEpt were excellent. Hopefully this year the membership package makes it to China unlike the previous couple of years.

Was a Player Partner for about 8 years until my player was delisted 12 months ago. Probably about 15k into the clubs coffers. No correspondence after his delisting. No offer from the club to contact the player to pass on my regards.
I thought I'd have an opportunity to sponsor one of the new early draft picks. Instead I was sent a list with the remnants of who was left. Told them to belt it up their ginger.

The club lacks any concept of how to retain existing clients.
How ridiculous is it to give a CFC jumper to the player partner each year. Surely after 3 or 4 years, you've stored enough footy jumpers in your cupboard.

Haha. Yes! Absolutely. Might as well have chook raffles. Professional multi-billion dollar competition and they have individual partner/sponsors. Mid-20th Century ideas in a 21st Century milieu. Club's trying to have its cake and eat it too. I like your description, Gro - "absurd".

That is appalling BV. You would think that it would not be too hard to contact you and say unfortunately your player has been delisted and if you would like to continue your sponsorship you can have first crack at the following players for the following cost before we put them on the market to everyone else.

The club thinks people like BV are cash cows who are going to front up their money regardless. Much better to attract new money with new draftees.

Player sponsor/partner gives people the option to feel more involved at a reasonable cost while supporting the club and raising money. I dont think its so bad.

Guest passes into AFL Members is $38 with reserved seat.

Why?

its a great question , that i dont really have an answer to, apart from that my kids were signed up as members on the day they were born and i want to continue their memberships for life.

and then i sign up as a long distance 5 too so i can secure seats at subi (which i never use/do)

i definitely am not getting value for money or good service etc etc -

i guess its a donation?

A long Distance 5 really is a donation... unless your planning a few trips to Melb!

Not sure if this comes under membership but I have to vent somewhere. I just saw the extravagant season opening with Dame Edna and could not believe the price: $750 !??? Who do they think they are?? By any measure this is obscene, decadent, greedy. They obviously don't need my relatively modest contribution either BV.

I have to voice a concern that our CFC is beginning to stand for the Carlton Football Corporation.

Asking for more money = They don't need my money. Interesting logic.

If they can sell all the tickets for that much... how is that bad?
