Finally been looked after - great draw, except the 3 consecutive games between round 6 - 8 @ the carpark following the Western Australia trip. Must try and get through unscathed, which will be tough on the bodies.

Bullsh1t, no excuses for any stadium we play!!!

We are good enough to win against anyone, anywhere. I for one will not accept a "get through unscathed" mentality from our players and thankfully so does Ratts.

Maybe you should put shorts on and play on that surface for 4 weeks straight and then come and talk to me.

you mean like StKilda did in 2009, when they didn't lose until round 20 or so???

I agree, the stadium we play at doesn't matter, if we are good enough, we will win.

I agree it doesn't matter where you play, Interstate, home or away.
The point Surrey is making is the the ground surface is hard on the body.
After consistently playing on that surface injuries are compounded and harder to shake/manage.
Maybe that had an added contribution to our injuries this year.

Don't worry Redback they know what the point is - it's the ol' twist words to prove a point scenario.

Really?

Please point me to the evidence that shows increase in injury at etihad in relation to every other ground the AFL plays on.

Someone would have to compile the raw data. Additionally, you wouldn't know about minor injuries that players play through.

I can tell you straight up that it does concern clubs.

Talk to the players that play on the concrete for multiple weeks in a row

Our players complain about the GABBA when we play there as well, as do players complain about the length of grass at ANZ, the size of SCG, the size of Subiaco and the travel fatigue the following week.

Brisbane won 3 premierships out of 4 grand finals playing on what is considered as the hardest deck in the AFL. Saints and Doggies play there more than anyone else and haven't had any more injuries than us, in fact I believe that the Saints had the lowest amount of players used last year and still made 2 grand finals.

But don't let facts get in the way of your hatred of the stadium.

I thought this was the Carlton vs Richmond Round 1 2012 Fixture Thread.

Riewoldt, Higgins, Gibson, their clubs have questioned their injuries on the docklands surface.
The Players Association have raised concerns.
Coaches and individual players have raised concerns with the surface.
We have all seen the shifting live, or on telecast so you cannot really dismiss the facts.
Hey its a nice comfortable ground to watch from, but everyone knows its a design stuff up.

You can dismiss the facts if you keep batting for the organisation you work for.
Nothing wrong with being loyal however.

I'm actually getting sick of knowing who our first group of games are each year. Shake it up AFL.
