Launceston is a Hawthorn home game, bit misleading to count them as back to back interstate trips IMO.

pretty sure that Friday nights will be live but Sat/Sun arvo games delayed

I think it's only Sun. arvo games that will be delayed on FTA.
For sure, it is only one game per week anyways.

Let me see, they fly to Perth and then fly back to Melbourne and then they fly to Launceston and fly back to Melbourne within two weeks.
Then later on they fly to Adelaide and then fly back to Melbourne and then they fly to Launceston and fly back to Melbourne within two weeks.
They do look like back to back interstate trips to me.

That's the price they pay for cashing in on interstate 'home' games - tough titties !

Hey Guys, I have been doing a bit of research today and have decided to do a collation of all the points raised in various threads across the Blues forums. This should summarize all the key points about our 2012 Draw, warts and all.

All Times are East Coast Times:

Round 1 - Tigers - MCG - (Away) Thursday March 29th @ 7:40pm - Seven
Round 2 - Lions - Gabba - (Away) Thursday April 5th @ 7:40pm - Seven

Round 5 - Freo - Subiaco (Away) Friday April 27th @ 8.40pm - Seven
Round 6 – Giants - Dome (Home) Sunday May 6th @ 1.10pm - Foxtel
Round 7 - Saints - Dome - (Away) Monday May 14th @ 7:40pm - Seven
Round 8 - Crows - Dome - (Home) Sunday May 20th @ 3:45pm - Seven

Round 11 - Cats - Dome - (Home) Friday June 8th @ 7:50pm - Seven
Round 12 - Eagles - Subiaco - (Away) Thursday June 14th @ 7:40pm - Seven
Round 13 - Bye
Round 14 - Hawks - MCG - (Home) Friday June 29th @ 7:50pm - Seven
Round 15 - Pies - MCG - (Away) Friday July 6th @ 7:50pm - Seven
Round 16 - Kangas - Dome - (Away) Friday July 13th @ 7:50pm - Seven
Round 17 - Bulldogs - Dome - (Away) Saturday July 21st @ 7:40pm - Seven
Round 18 - Tigers - MCG - (Home) Saturday July 28th @ 7:40pm - Seven
Round 19 - Swans - Dome - (Home) Sunday August 5th @ 3:15pm - Seven
Round 20 - Lions - Dome - (Home) Saturday August 11th @ 7:40pm - Foxtel
Round 21 - Bombers - MCG - (Away) Saturday August 18th @ 1:45pm -Seven
Round 22 – Suns – Metricon (Away) Saturday August 25th 7.40pm - Foxtel
Round 23 – Saints – Dome – (Home) Floating Timeslot. - TBC

Interstate: 5….Lions @ Gabba, Freo @ Subi, Port @ AAMI, Eagles @ Subi, Suns @ Metricon.

MCG: 8….5 Home Games & 3 Away Games.
MCG: 8….Tigers x 2, Bombers x 2, Pies x 2, Demons x 1, Hawks x 1

Dome: 6 Home Games & 3 Away Games.
Dome: 9..GWS x 1, Saints x 2, Crows x 1, Cats x 1, Kangas x 1, Dogs x 1, Swans x 1 & Lions x 1.

Play Twice: Tigers, Lions, Pies, Bombers & Saints.
Play Once: Freo, Giants, Crows, Dees, Port, Cats, Eagles, Hawks, Kangas, Dogs, Swans & Suns.

Should Win: Tigers x 2, Lions x 2, Pies x 1, Bombers x 2, Saints x 1, Giants x 1, Crows x 1, Dees x 1, Port x 1, Hawks x 1, Kangas x 1, Dogs x 1, Swans x 1 & Suns x 1 = 17 Wins.

Could Lose: Pies x 1, Saints x 1, Freo x 1, Cats x 1 & Eagles x 1.

Time Slots:

Thurs Night: 3
Friday Night: 6
Saturday: 2
Sat Night: 5
Sunday: 4
Sun Twilight: 0
Monday: 0
Monday Night: 1
Floating: 1

We play 15 Night Games and 6 Day Games, with the final game against the Saints a floater.

Balanced Draw:
Although we don’t get to play GWS, Suns & Port twice, we only play Cats, Hawks, Eagles and Swans once (3 of which are in Melbourne).

Good Patch:
Our last 6 rounds 18-23 are: Tigers, Swans, Lions, Bombers, Suns & Saints. Only Suns away!

Tough Patch:
Mid season: Rounds 11-15: Cats, Eagles (Subi), Bye, Hawks & Pies.

Interstate Travel:
We travel 4 times in the first 12 rounds (then get the Bye after Perth) and then not again until the 2nd last game against the Suns. No WA trips next year in the final few rounds, before Finals.

TV Games: Aside from Fox showing all games live all over the country, for those without access to cable, we have the most FTA Games @ 17.

Anomalies: Round 9 Home game against the Dees at the MCG and Round 11 Home game against the Cats at the Dome. Work that out. Looney programming.

Club Advantage: Massive TV exposure. 6 Home Games that will be almost certainly be sellouts.
Round 3 – Pies - MCG Friday April 13th Night.
Round 4 - Bombers - MCG Saturday April 21st Day.
Round 11 - Cats - Dome Friday June 8th Night.
Round 14 - Hawks - MCG Friday June 29th Night.
Round 18 - Tigers - MCG Saturday July 28th Night.
Round 23 – Saints – Dome Floating Timeslot.

Putting aside gate sharing arrangements, these will help pay for the little extras required to keep pace with the richer clubs with better stadium deals. Great for Sponsors, Supporters and potential fans, alike.

I believe, on balance that this is the best draw that we have had in the past 6 years. It is about bloody time too. Go Blues!

Brizzy I know it's only speculating but not sure how you have a Saints game as could lose where as Hawks as should win, and one game vs Collingwood as a should win and the other as a could lose?

Pretty simple really: We won one and lost one against the Saints this year and I reckon they will slip a bit. Both games are at the Dome, where they play particularly well. So I think it is 50/50 against them. Although we started poorly against the Dawks, we came home with a rush and almost got up. We will ambush them at the G next year and should overrun them and win easily. We are due to win at least one of our two games against the Filth. With most of our spine missing this year, we managed to hold them for 3 quarters. I think they will slip a bit and we will be stronger with Jamo, Waitey and Hammer etc. Kapishe? :smoking:

The draw is the best I can remember. Swanny/CFO would be delighted on the commercial side. Ratts & Co should be rapted with the footy side.

All things being equal with injuries etc, there is no excuse not to be top four next year.

How awesome is collingwood's draw?????? :smoking:

Doubt it.

The dooshbags over here always blame low crowds (especially Port games) for live games on free to air.

Melbourne is a different football culture, and going to the games beats sitting at home, especially when the G is rocking!!

On top of that, it's been shown that the figures don't change much for live against the gate. Most people would rather go to the game.

Yes Dirko free to air does get blamed over here, but dont forget there's also poor time slots, weather, ticket prices, foxtel, too hard for people who play sport to make it Saturday afternoon, night games being too late for kids and country people, rule changes, style of play, food and drink prices, parking, the stadium, tidal movements, bowel movements etc etc.....

That's my point. They can hardly complain when they're the ones who sold games to Tassie.

A nightmare from my perspective. The night games start at about 0300 here.

Read into this what you will but of the total number of games on FTA by us, the filth and the scum each has something rather eerie about them.

Filth = 15
Scum = 16
Us = 17

Each number reflects the number of Premierships won by us all.

At least that's what it will at the conclusion of the H&A season. :smoking: :smoking: :smoking:
