Still love this attitude of 'Free to Air TV should show ever game live'.
never have. Never will.
Get Foxtel. Simple as that.
I'd rather fiddle around with shortcuts until IPTV is in full swing. I'm not dropping close to $100 a month on something I'd use for maybe 6 to 8 hours of programming a week, and that's assuming I can't get to any of the games.
Given that, it'd probably be cheaper (and a better experience) for me to go to every Carlton game. Throw in the EPL and it's still not value for money. That's the plight of the average punter: adapt and watch 3 or 4 sports religiously on Foxtel, or get your family interested in some of the programming.
The latter is a desperate move when you consider Freeview. Flip over to the US or the UK and you get double the content for about 60-75% of the price. No wonder Telstra don't mind giving up the copper cable; they've got another monopoly to play with.
Anyway, more than enough about that. Lightning round might seem mickey mouse, but it's probably a better pacing for the opening round of pre-season games for the players, and in doing so offers more of a hitout for the fans to view as well.
