That's good. I guess they wouldn't have signed him for 3 years if they thought he still had injury issues

Easy to second guess? I don't think so.
I love him as a player. He is so athletic and versatile but purely in terms of recent productivity he is being overpaid and his contract is too long. I hope I am wrong but I also hope there are escape clauses for the club in year three if he can't stay on the park.

Well done on a great deal, Jarrad. Now earn it.

Very happy for Waite and the football club. The douters will be singing his praises when he is flying and leading our forward line next year. When his not injured he is a great focal point for us and with, kruz, Hammer, Thornten, and the younger ones coming up we have the goods for the next 10 years. :smoking:
Time for the coaches to show how good they are and make it jell. To be perfectly
honest its up to them now to make it happen and put in the hard yards and spend time specifically on the player and the position he has to occupy. :donk:
Anyone who has the foundation can be taught a specific task, ie: Hammer, Kruz.
We can argue for another 6/12 months but time will tell. :fight: :fight: :fight:

Let's hope he can stay fit and stop leading to the boundary line

I am probably opening up that perennial can of worms, but I think at some point sooner rather than later in this three year gig he will play a similar role to the one Tarrant does now.

Straight ahead, less twisting and turning and being bashed and crashed from the back. CHF take its toll unless you have a physically big body.

This would certainly open the the opportunities for a player, 'he who must not be named', to gravitate forward and does have the potential to be a power forward....'you know who"

Only $1.3 million if the age is to be believed. $860k a season is not bad coin.

1.3 divided by 3 = 430k a season.

The papers can't even get players names right and you want to believe the contract numbers.

Actually, you have just qualified from journo school telling us he is getting 860k a season.

I think the veterans list conditions comes into those calculations

If it is 1.3 over 3 years, then I'd wager it's...

2012: 300K
2013: 300K
2014: 700K (only half counts as he'd be a veteran - so only $350K in the cap)

(Mind you I'm not really up with how these things work, so who knows...)

Don't worry nobody really is up with these things but it does not stopping them from being the ""truth"".

He is on the Veterans list in 2013 too. May not be as backended as that.

I kinda thought most people could have put two and two together there and just lumped me in the "short contract please cause he's got a massive durability query and we don't want to be left holding the salary can, again" camp.

But that's ok. In the interest of clarity, I'm happy to spell out that I think he'll get on the park for ~33 of those 66 games (i.e equivalent to one and a half seasons), and that's $1.3m / 1.5 = $866k, which is a lot of money, particularly given he'll likely spend 2014 sitting in the stands while he's being paid most of it.
