[You've banged on for years about our lack of interventionist development. if you don't believe that the club can teach a 23-24 year old to mark consistently and lead/position well, then we may as well shut the place down.[/quote]

Sentata was my last hope that athletes can become great footballers. Geez I sang his praises to anyone who listened when he was 23yr old, the next big thing and all. And now at 28yr old after undergoing an intervention that would make Christopher Moltisanti shudder, he's now contemplating a return to hurling.

We need footballers who can play (see Laidler) and then develop them to be better footballers. Or at least with a threshold of football smarts to begin with (see Tuohy). Hampson is an experiment who might have enough to learn the ruck, certainly not both that and FF. No amount of man love will make it happen to the extent you wish for I fear. I know, I've been there. The dumping of Setanta and me hurt bad.

An obscure pop-culture reference to a characters in the Sopranos (perhaps best tv ever) who underwent an 'intervention', was prompted by 99prelim's interventionist development. The point I was obliquely made was that Irish had more than enough development

SEN just announced the news too. He got what he wanted in a 3 year deal. Lets hope he can remain injury free now.

Let's hope it was for less cash, because three years is ridiculous.

Well think of it this way - we should get another 30 games out of him........

He's on the veteran's list in the last 2 years of the contract. Im sure that's why he gets 3 years.

Plus performance based one would hope.

No way he could justify any significant pay rise I would've thought. Let's hope the injuries are behind him.

I think we're going to get value for money in this deal, despite what some may think. Good news!

not sure how you can determine that without knowing the monetary value of the contract

An estimation of the number of games he will play. ;)

Waite is a club elder now and I think comes across as passionate (to the point of stupidity sometimes).

Let's hope he can put his injury worries behind him and get back to his best which is, let's face it, pretty darned good.

On top of that, who will he "purposefully and callously horse kick in the aggots" in Round 1 next year, according to stale old Bartlett?

His old man finished at 153. Jarrad will now get the chance (hopefully in Round 11 or 12 next year) to pass his dad's milestone.

I'm sure that will be a big moment/milestone for him. All that's missing is a premiership medal to add to Vin's two.

Perhaps he deserves a chance to play in a winning final?

Still hasn't after all this time!
