Spoke to someone who went to their B and F last night and he reckoned it was down to Watters or Ayres. I find Ayres a bit hard to believe personally, given he's been out of the top flight for 6 or 7 seasons.

Ayres was apparently told last night he was no longer in the running.

Was that before or after he handed in his CV at the initial interview? :P

Started with 40 applicants.

Have to wonder who was 40th if Ayres came 2nd!

St Kilda approached me after reading a few of my posts here, I was around #34 IIRC. I had some good referees on my CV though.

Giesh was 36th, KB 39th, and some bloke called 'Chooka' whose coached 1058 games for a Div 8 ammo side in Adelaide rounded out the 40.

According to "Whispers" on 3AW Richo is in the final 3 along with Hinkley and Watters. Selfishly I hope Richo doesn't get it.

Agreed.

Unless his first order of business is to trade Goddard in a straight swap for Bower and Setatnt.

As soon as Brenton Sanderson got hired by Adelaide I thought St Kilda would take Richardson and I still believe that.

Hope so. Would love to see Richardson get a go one day and he'll be a great coach, but we need him right now.

That means the job is his.

Remember that Scott Burns was a shoe-in, ditto Leon Cameron. Sanderson was a lock for Geelong.

Put $10 on Richardson at $34 when the Saints market opened. Won't be to disappointed if he gets the job  He's due for a head coaching role surely?

With regards to not being injury prone, Bower is more reliable than Hartlett, Austin, and O'Keeffe combined.
