Seconded

It'll be very weird to have one of the most experienced coaches in the AFL next season :sly:

Wonder if Rattens contract will have some terms and conditions in it.

I dont love or hate Ratts, as long as we win our 17th within the next 2-3 years, I don't
really care who is coach.

But what happens of we end up doing a 2011 Western Bulldogs in 2012 ?.

Another 6 games and Ratts will pass Pagan as the longest serving coach of Carlton to not have us playing in a premeirship

Just something to think about

Minogue and Hands never won one but both took us there to be runners up

Looks like 2 years but the club will only honour the 2nd year if we go top 4 and win at least 2 finals IMHO...feel sorry for Ratts as I cant remember a coach who has had such rigid targets to achieve.
I reckon if we had lost to Essendon* that Alan Richardson would have been the new coach.....

I remember 1952 to 1968 very well

And the filth were very powefull.

Used to cop heaps as a kid from pimply, freckley, ranga filth supporters with BO. They had snotty noses & dirty handkerchief & wore grey stamina school shorts. Filthy bastards

No wonder I hate collingwood

Thats how I see it too...not sure if there is much faith being shown in Ratts.

Do we even know the details of his contract that we can speculate on the terms?

Ratts knows that we're not in the business of just making up the numbers. I reckon he's just as demanding on himself - he's in the business of winning premierships.

A fair contract IMO and well deserved.
It's a good coaching team at the moment but Ratts understands he is only a component of it. Richardson looks after a lot of the set plays including kick outs etc and the strength and conditioning team are very good.
Ratts would know the system could progress if any of them were released from it.
It's a healthy set up to not be relying on any one individual.

Ratten signs up for two more years

Quote:
''Our deal is a two-year deal and it's unconditional,'' Swann told The Age.

''It's not one with an option, it doesn't say you've got to finish fifth or anything like that, it's just a straight base contract with incentives and there are no conditions on it … no get-out clauses for either party.

''We think he has earned it and we're comfortable.''

If we get Craig by his side then I would suggest:

1. Richardson is very close to a senior gig at the saints
2. Malthouse is well and truely out of the picture for future years.

no inside knowledge, just my gut feel.

Hope so. I don't really see the value of getting him.

Craigy would be good.
