I'd get Sam Reid from the Bulldogs
Had shoulder problems but is hard as a cat's head
played well again for Willy yesterday and is frenetic like Robbo

I'd like Sam Reid from Swans too!!

been there done that .multiple best and fairest winner. hard nosed defensive midfielder.
only if he comes cheap and they pay half.

Isn't he out of contract? Port are definitely looking to move him on though.

I should note I don't want him at Carlton though.

Over the hill and a very short-sighted (i.e. 1 year) signing.

Kane comes with a very hefty contract.
he is on the outer there for a couple of reasons.
one is the size of his contract.
two is because he is part of a player rift.

I would be having a chat to him and having him checked out.

against the good sides we need players that can help us match up with their inside midfielders and use the ball well.

it helps the midfield structure.

we need as many smile inside midfielders as possible.

Im not against trading for Kane Cornes. Lets remember though, we'd be doing them a massive favour to take him on big bucks for 2 years so lets see what else we can shake out of them.

And to be fair, AGRO raised that a few weeks ago when we were talking about Butcher.

Curnow is not our answer. yes he played wonderfully for the first half dozen games of the year......ave 26 possies and with an ave 8 being contested.

However, he is another 'up and under' kick and i figure (with J and Carrotts), we already have enough of those types.

good back up player.

Blue girl 72......how do WE work it out when on the occassions they have Cox and Nic nat on the ball together? Surely neither of them get their knees dirty?

Would you like to see Nic Nat used as an inside mid then...and not rucking? Don't they still have their inside mids when that happens? Maybe I'm mis understanding you London...probably am.
I thought we were talking about those tough nut in and under types for a permanent role? I can't fathom using K. in that possie full time...too risky for his body type surely, and not to mention a complete waste of his natural attributes. Look ..I'm sure I'm missing your point on this. Wouldn't be the 1st time for me.

Cornes would be a solid target depending on the price. Fits the mold of the inside mid we need.

Unsure on Kane to be honest. Just how much does he have left in him?

What was his contract situation with Port when it ended? If there was anything left on it, the bargaining point would be purely how much of that contract would we pick up instead of what pick we'd give them.

I remember thinking back before the McLean trade that Tuck from the Tiges would be a good get for this role and we would've got him cheap as he was out of favour (could never understand why). If only we did :(

well glad it's been raised before.
people are worried about Kane but if has a brilliant record.
he is nothing to sneeze at
people think he can't make our side? yow!
yes Kane is twenty eight so is judd
we need to take a chance on a guy like him cos apart from this year he has the runs on the board and we should be able to get him with a smart deal.

also Luke ball changed the dynamics of colon.
he does the dirty work and everyone else is more free.

to beat the hawks cats magpie we need to add more hard nosed midfielders.

I'm happy to duck my head and say I agree with Synbad on the idea of Kane Cornes. As long as the relevant checks are done on how his body is holding up, and as long as we make all the relevant enquiries to ensure he won't disrupt the harmony of the playing group then I think he'd be ideal.

The other name I've heard mentioned is David Armitage... a better option in terms of age, but St Kilda would want more from us for him. With Port and Cornes, it would just be a matter of how much of his contract we'd be willing to pick up.

That's it. Play the role he is best at and he'll be part of another Premiership.

Kane Cornes turns 29 January next year - if we got him cheap then maybe a good option.

No to Cornes. Poor mans Carrazzo now. Synbad you talk about the modern game and its required attributes regarding Watson, yet push the Cornes barrow? He couldn't get a game at Port Adelaide due to the fact that he couldn't reinvent himself from being anything else than a slow tagger with poor up and under disposal.

Added to the fact he is part of the player revolt down there, and had been left out of leadership groups shows he might not have the character we are after either.
