To carry on from the other thread, I thought Kerr made enough progress to ensure he'd make it another year on the senior list, particularly with Houlihan retiring and Yarran changing roles.
Meanwhile, you look over at the defence and at the moment it's:
Talls - Bower, Austin, Henderson, Jamison, Watson, McCarthy
3rd talls - Laidler, White, McInnes, Davies, Thornton
Medium - Duigan, Russell, Lucas, Tuohy
Small - Yarran, Armfield, Joseph, maybe Carter
Compare that to the other end, and you need to push some names into the midfield, up forward and de-list a few. Might as well start with Austin & White, and give Austin another shot via the rookie draft.
White has been dogged by injury for two years, and is something he brought with him to the club I believe. Can't have a bloke breaking down all the time due to a persistent knee injury.
I tend to agree with you, but Austin appears to have had his papers stamped and White seems popular with the MC. If it was a choice between the two, I'd have a slight preference for Austin. I don't mind the idea of him going to the Rookie List for a year. I don't think it will happen though...
Kerr has talent and he's the sort of player that Carlton could use if he got himself fit enough to rotate through the midfield. What we don't know is how he is around the club and what those 'inside' think of him. I think there's always been a little bit of a question mark about what he's like 'above the shoulders'. From the outside looking in, he certainly seems to have matured in the last 12 months. I wonder what his endurance is like as well. I'd prefer to keep him, but he could be one the club delist if they think they can get him back via the Rookie Draft...
