Rattens 'active in trade week' comment is a strange one. Who of value who played tonight is going to put up for a trade (s) of substance?

Warnock? No, Hendo? No. Yazz, Eddie, Garlett? No. Duigan, Laidler? No. Judd, Robbo, Murphy? No. Walker Tuohy, Joseph? No

Jamo, Simmo, Scotland, Thorton? No.

So who' s left? Army, Ellard, Carrots, Setanta, Davies. Cant see getting game changing players for those guys and Ellard and Army would be stiff.. The others, meh.

Methinks the disapointment got to him.

It was active in trades to get players that can contribute consistently (or something along those lines). Therefore you would think that we'd be looking at players that can go missing a bit too often and in an area where out list is strong in - so take your pic of either a small forward or a HBF/tagger to be traded out.

So what do we think about Henderson for 2012......back or forward?

:yikes: why does everyone think he's still going to be a forward??????

He's clearly a defender! Lave him down back!

It seems an eternity ago now, but I did love them playing the start of We are the Navy Blues instead of the national anthem....that was hilarious.

Good to see Irish (senior) singing the national anthem as well!

We'll be walking funny for a while after being reamed that hard.

If Ray Chamberlain never umpires a Carlton game again it'll be too soon.

This may be unfair, but had we picked up Darling instead of Watson, we would have won this game quite comfortably.

Just like that Rich muppet who did it to us in 2009.

We shouldn't have picked Yarran.

Bit OT

But the commentary tonight was terrible.

They gave more respect to Port in games this year than we got tonight.

It was funny to hear Darcy query Warnock's kicking.

Did Darcy even watch us smash Essendon* with Warnock hitting up Garlett lace out? :sly:

So many emotions. My overall feeling though is numbness.

Absolutely gutted at the result but couldn't be prouder of the effort and heart shown.

When the siren went I just sat there emotionless for 5 mins. While all those flowers were going off their tree. Normally I would be angry as hell but not so much......yet.

Even now 4 hours later I'm sitting here typing this and I'm not sure if I'm going to cry or punch some flower in the head.

This would of been huge, especially for us WA fans. God help me if WCE win the thing.....

Don't really know what to say just now. Still shattered. I know it wasn't our year but when you get a sniff at something tangible, on time or not, it's still a hard loss.

At quarter time or a bit after I was sitting there thinking, "Cox is grimacing, Kerr's not right, JK's about to be subbed off, Lynch is holding his arm, they're gonna lose their rotations and we'll have them run off the park by 3 quarter time." How the tables turned, and quickly.

T-Bird going down was a big out, turned the game into Rd 14 Part 2. Felt like the midfielders went missing for the most part again after quarter time, we lost our mojo and it turned into a tall vs. short contest rather than a fast vs. slow. We did well to come back but at the end of the day, our off-season starts now and West Coast plan for their defeat next week.

As a lifelong VFL/AFL lover, the umpiring was probably the worst I've seen. As a Carlton supporter, I seriously want to kick the f**king s**t out of those 3 idiots tonight, most of all Mr Showboat himself. That "razor" is well and truly blunt and I think he should talk a long walk off a short pier.

We lost our way, we had key outs, we did well to get to where we did. Hampson would have been the key in, was always worried when Cox/Nic Nat were listed. Setanta tried his best but it was clear when Robbie was resting, Setanta got killed. Jacobs would have come in handy. Hell, Harry would have come in handy given this analogy...it's useless playing the "shoulda woulda coulda" game, it just doesn't work. There's issues with Judd greater than some broken sleep. We'll keep it on the down low and get him right for next year. Like most supporters I hope we have a bit more depth next year to manage our list better. Our #1s need weeks off (GC/GWS at the very least) and the remainder have to lift. We've got the all the potential in the world, 2012 is the time to realise it all. It was great to have a crushing win over an old foe, have a home final for the first time in 10 years but we still end up on the sidelines while the prom king and queen dance the dance. I want the crown next year. We're very close....this hurts all of us supporters terribly and looking at the rooms afterwards, the players even moreso. We will bounce back, the culture is building again and the team is hungry for success now they have a taste.

So many positives to take from this season: we have discovered so much new talent, reinvented existing talent and created a winning organisation. We're on the precipice of being a force in football again....only a good preseason away.

I just hate the offseason...

Thanks boys for an amazing year, exceeding our expectations while leaving so much to deliver next year. Rest up, learn from the weaknesses and become stronger for 2012 and beyond.

Disappointed but oh so proud.

Carlton - the true definition of bravery tonight.

Agree with what most have said. I'm that gutted I can't get to sleep, but damn proud of the boys nonetheless.

WCE is one of my new 'most hated' teams.

Anyone sharing the Red-Eye with Razor Ray can you please hold a pillow over his face when he falls asleep? We'll all chip in for your bail, promise.

Having just FFWed through the game when I got home I reckon giving the umps a massive benefit of the doubt, West Coast scored at least 4 goals from appalling decisions or non-decisions - particularly the holding the ball Robbo should have got in Q2 and the chop on Duigan's arms leading up to the LeCras goal, not to mention the free kick to Walker at the end.

Taking that out of the equation though, the Eagles smashed us in the clearances in the middle 2 quarters and that was the difference in the end. As much as it hurts, I thought the Eagles were marginally the better team on the day.

Bring in Fev and we're worse off.

We never would have made it this far with Fevola in the team. Guarantee it.

How is it that we get players like Waite, Jamo, Gibbs, Kreuzer all get injured and either come back on and have zero impact or disappear for weeks.

yet players like Cox, Kerr, Kennedy, and Buddy last night seem to have no ill-effects.

It shits me.

The first two disappered from the radar after it. There last decent games were against us and then there careers crashed and burnt.
