True, but I reckon Robbo is getting off lightly to be honest. He's a shadow of the player he was in the first half of the season.

Robbo was great tonight.......did you watch the game?

Don't often post on here but read it a lot, but after tonight felt the urge to post.
We can't use the injury excuse for losing, no Waite, kruise, Gibbs hurts, but all teams have injuries this time of year. We can't fault our guys guts n determination, as just about everyone said I'm very proud of them all, what an effort......
But those umpiring decisions in the 2nd, and the last min walker non decision, gee that hurts!
Weagles must have got 4 or 5 goals in the 2nd from ump frees or non decisions that should have been frees to us. It was just so blatantly poor! Would have taken a miracle to win against 25 men!

Bring on 2012!!! Remember the pain and use it to get home finals

Totally TOTALLY robbed.

Jamieson's spoil in the goalsquare (in the back???) was perfect. Weagles players "handing" the ball to a teammate (throw every time). Cox (or was it Lynch) was caught red-handed (at the edge of our goalsquare) and didn't dispose of the ball properly in that last frantic minute. Tuohy has his arms blatantly chopped on the half forward line. 3rd q - Weagles player brilliantly tackled & dropped the ball ... play on??? Murphy slung by Natanui AFTER he kicked it is a free DOWNFIELD every time.

And so on, and so forth. I'm sure others could add to this list.

The AFL has a real problem on its hands with umpires who let their emotions get the better of them in front of howling interstate crowds. We're not the first team to be robbed interstate and we won't be the last but it's not good enough. The players deserve better.

It was Lynch and he had 3 chances to dispose while being tackled and then just plain dropped it. Way more pissed about this decsision than the Walker one.

I'm feeling a bit strange. I've no doubt the boy's gave everything they had , but i can't help thinking we really should have won that quite comfortably.

Things that went wrong.

1) The MC chose 1 ruckman against the best and most mobile duo in the comp and we got absolutely OBLITERATED. Warnock tried hard, but simply got run into the ground.

2) The back-up ruckman was also our only forward target so as the game went on he became weak as a kitten. Tried hard and did a lot of good, but didn't really stand a hance.

3) Davies instead of Bower. anyone who's seen Bowers recent Ant's form know's he should have played.

4) Discipline: Dumb things cost us the match.
a)Carrots infraction on Kerr not only resulted in a free kick (50m as well?) in the first quarter woke the WCE up, he then gave away a clumsy free to get them on the board.
b) Davies, what can I say.
c) whoever gave the rest of the 50's away.

5) Our stoppage work was hopeless and although it shows only a difference of 7 , we got killed and our midfield, which should have been our strength got beaten . Daniel Kerr being the difference.

6) The bounce of the flower ball. The ball did not go our way once all day, it's like it was remote controlled by Carl Langdon.

Won't go on about umpires. They always cost you 4 at Subi, everyone knows it and I thought we could have won.

Has anyone seen the close goal decision. From where I was I was certain the ball did not completely cross the line. It does have to doen't it.?

We're a midfield 'type' short, and while I think they're all good players, it was pre-shoulder injury Curnow we needrf out there tonight. In fairness, it's not like the MC don't know that. They've had about 3 attempts at filling that hole.

That umpiring performance was appalling. We expected it but that was beyond a joke. Game was over in 2nd quarter. Brave of us to fight back without the assistance of the Umpires. They must have kicked 7 goals from freekicks.

The AFL has lost me. Unless they do something about those maggots they are never getting any of my money ever again.

If that flower Geish justify those decisions (and non decisions) the Club should do everything in its power to have him removed.

We were the moral winners on the night despite that Blues fan who knocked out 2 Eagles fans with 2 punches in section 311.

Realistically, we were never going to win the flag this year.
I look forward to seeing Mitchell, McCarthy and McInnes play next year. Plus, Kruiser rucking/ruck roving - he's a B grade forward. We still need some more grunt in the midfield - someone to hip & shoulder (take out) the Judd/Murphy tags.
Losses like this build resilience. The tide will turn.
I'm proud of the effort but honerable losses suck.

no need to do much list management
we just have to hold on to them. this group can go all the way
big levi looks good and could be the key forward we desperately need
he just has to improve his lateral movement and fitness
have to be proud of the boys gutsy effort!
we are not far away 2012 bring it on

He's a potential quality midfielder, or at least a high half-flanker. Sensational skills and nous for the game. Work rate has really improved this year.

Pretty tough words from Ratts there, and seem to contradict Sticks' opinion that improvement from within will be the focus in the off-season.

Maybe he's not thinking 100% straight right now. Can't blame him.

Great effort just fell short
If there is such a thing as an honorable loss that was one
However WE are Carlton and don't accept finals defeats
Must win more games on regular season to avoid interstate finals
Never get the luck rub of the green or whatever interstate
Can we stop bagging Davies and carrazzo it's easy to make them scapegoats
I love Juddy but he wasn't at his best tonight either
Team still needs to become more ruthless
Agree with Agro we need to finish kick goals better
Never put enough scoreboard pressure on when we have momentum
Great improvement of most players on the list this year

Hope that we keep most of list together as it is shaping up well
Apparently Ratten suggested we would be active in trade period whereas Kernahan was talking more organic growth
Another couple of additions like Laidler and duigan would be good
Need to put a lot of work into Lucas Watson et al
Need a bit of luck with injuries next year especially during finals
Did the eagles have anyone of any note missing tonight
Great effort without kreuz Waite hammer gibbs and Russell

F&*( that. We need for it to go on record that it was so blatant that the umpiring was biased to the point of comedy tonight.

Make the criticism, pay the fine, and who knows, we might get a few of the 50/50s sometime when it actually counts.

A lot of people seem to be banging on about Murph, Simpson, Tant's misses - the fact is that if WC kicked all their 'misses' too, we would have lost by more.

we had a good year, should have won tonight but we didn't. Anyone who can blame any of the 3 names above needs to have a good hard look at themselves! :screwy:
