I like it that everyone is on the Eagles. I don't expect Kerr to play. I expect Cox to play but whether he lasts the match is another thing. If they take the punt and he goes down early well they all of a sudden down a tall and a late fresh sub.

I think the Eagles are favourites to win but if the slippery weather comes later on as forecast and Cox plays injured and Kerr is out and we play smart you never know. Last week I desperately wanted to win and thought we were never going to lose. This week I hope we win but not the end of the world if we don't. Be disappointing but not as bad as last year.

Yeah..
but apart from them......

Scotty1200...your dreams are most likely from something you ate.
Not to worry.

I prefer to day dream about the boys at the end of the game tonite.
The blue and yellow team slumped...dejected.
Our fellas group hugging, leaping, and high fiving.
Us doing happy dances at the game, at PP, in pubs, and at home in fornt of the ol' TV.
C'mon Champions......do it!!!!

As a supporter, I tend to agree. But I am a little worried our players might be in the same headspace. Of course I have no evidence of this, but I really hope we aren't just satisfied with last week's result an bring real intensity to this game.

Starting from where?

Book it early.
Allow $40 from airport(30mins) and $20(15mins) from city centre and you should have change.

Alrighty then. Since we last met in Round 14 we've seen plenty of change to the teams:

Carlton: Some significant personal changes IMO. Our defensive structure returns and our midfield soldiers in Robbo and Carrots are back. Carlos adds uncertainty to everyone on both sides.

In - Laidler, Duigan, Davies, Carlos, Robinson, Carrazzo
Out - RoK, Austin, Kreuzer, Russell, Houlihan, Gibbs

Eagles: Replaced the midfield movers from last game against us in Smith and Swift with an emerging star in Gaff and so so in Masten. Waters, love this bloke and what he brings to the game! In saying that I hope he has a stinker.

In - McGinnity, Gaff, Waters, Masten
Out - Smith, Swift, Rosa, Ebert

What do I think will happen?

Cox out and Ebert in. Lynch as the second ruckman would now be our danger man! I don't mind Lynch playing across half forward leading to the wings, but in the ruck he is capable of ripping the game apart, especially against Carlos. He showed against Collingwood when Cox went down the damage he can do in that last quarter.

The Eagles would've kept McGinnity for a tagging role. Question is who? Yarran? Scotland? Murphy? We know the Selwood's will tag team Judd, he just needs to rise to the occasion tonight Juddy. If the Eagles take two of our big 4 out, it could be a long night if the lesser types don't step up.

From our side? Carrots to run with Shuey is my tip. Kerr is just too good in close, even when being tackled he just has an uncanny ability to extract the ball to space or his teammate. In saying that I would expect Ellard to keep a close check on Kerr. Embley? Gibbs would've been a good matchup. I also think we need to quell Mackenzie, he smashed us by marking everything in his zone at Etihad, whether we play Robbo on him ala Fletcher?

How will we win?

Contested marking. Carlos and T-Bird need to bring the ball to ground to bring our speed into play. If the Eagles mark in our forward 50 they will rebound and punish us again. We lost this stat 13-5 at Etihad.

1st possessions and contested ball. We lost both stats last time we met also. Controlling the ball is the key to our ability to compete third man up against the Eagles big boys up forward, then rebound hard when it hits the deck through Yarran and Zac.

The Eagles kicked the highest score against us in the H&A season, 103pts. IF we're on they won't get past 100pts this time which leaves the result up to our forward line to kick the score, I have no doubt defensively we will do a great job.

Final result?

If we turn up to play we can win by 3-4 goals. I'm seriously worried about our ability to backup after last weeks emotionally charged game though, so I'm tipping the Eagles 88-53, a 32pt win.
