If our backs can't beat their press and set up our running game, then the Eagles will be out of the blocks before we know what's hit us. It may come down to whose talls stand up. They have a clear edge with Lynch, Kennedy and Darling competing against O'hAilpin, Thornton and Walker. Thornton v Mackenzie and Glass v O'hAilpin must be a huge concern for the Carlton coaching panel. Mackenzie smashed Cloke last week, so Thornton shouldn't be a huge concern as a lead up forward. Glass will be too experienced for Setanta.

Yet LeCras is the biggest danger man and likely to be the match winner if we can't control him.

Even if Cox is out, they can still shark our hitouts with Priddis and Kerr gun ball winners.

Not confident about our chances if it's an even contest in the middle and it comes down to a shoot out.

The expected wet weather could be a good thing for us. Especially if Cox is out and we make a conest at ground level. If that the case that plays into our hands. Keep it wide and close there space.

Whilst we were beaten at Etihad when we had that burst in the third term it happened very very quickly we were 5 and a bit goals down and got back to 4 points. That's the type of start we need to the first quarter this week.
Last week I knew we would beat the Melbourne Aiport Bummers this week I hope we beat the WCE.

Blues by 20 points.

Far better team structure and far better prepared players, fitness wise, than the team that played them last time.

Anyone see this article the other day?

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/green-in-west-coasts-corner/story-e6frf9io-1226136461673

Quote:
CHAMPION boxer Danny Green helped out his beloved West Coast Eagles this week by knocking back a request to motivate Carlton's players.

"I was contacted by someone yesterday to have a chat to the Carlton boys before the game," Green said yesterday.

"I was told (by the bloke that) Juddy is calling in a favour. I don't know whether that's crap or not.

"They asked me to come down to the rooms and have a chat with them but I said 'you're dreaming, no chance, good luck, it won't happen'.

"I'm an Eagles man."

Green's trainer Angelo Hyder then chipped in: "You should have done it and just made it a bad one (by telling them) 'youse are going to get flogged today'."

West Coast players Luke Shuey, Mark Nicoski, Chris Masten, Sam Butler, Andrew Strijk and retired premiership midfielder Chad Fletcher were on hand at Green's media conference as the former IBO cruiserweight world champion announced his upcoming fight against Poland's Krzysztof Wlodarczyk at Perth's Challenge Stadium on November 30.

There is obviously a West Coast Eagles story translator at the Hun. It should read "cocaine addict Chad Fletcher"....

The New Breed mixing with the Old Breed....

Good.

Danny Green is a flog of the highest order who's been ripping off the public in WA for 15 years.

Complete toss bag and so is his brother Brendan, the former Eagles squad member.

Every time Danny gets a pasting I like him more.

Hypothetical report of Carlton's game plan against Essendon*
Paul Roos wrote:
Ruckman Robbie Warnock would try to drop the ball down on the defensive side if either Murphy or Carrazzo were free.

The other player's role was to body up Watson to try to stop him from getting to the Essendon* ruckman's tap.

Judd, who was shadowed by Heath Hocking, would try to hit the space in front of Warnock's chest at speed, looking for a short tap.

Hocking did a fine job on Judd with his positioning and body work.

I suspect the Eagles midfielder assigned to Judd would be encouraged to watch the video closely.

"I suppose (the ferocity) is the difference with this line-up ... (compared to) the one (we took into the game) at Etihad Stadium," Ratten said.

"When you put Laidler and Duigan and Robinson back in, you just think, 'Gees, we're a fair bit harder than we were last time, at the footy and the man'.

"So that's something we're looking forward to."

The Age has jinxed us with two puff pieces about Duigan and Henderson. :D

Eade's preview is mostly a pile of crap.

West Coast to get home
Rodney Eade wrote:

Given good conditions, this could be the match of the finals. Speed and skill v hardness and height. With an expected advantage at stoppages, the Eagles have to be favourites.

Possessions will be hard-earned, with the Eagles having more players to win contested ball.

The Eagles have more contested ball winners and are better at the stoppages, yet the stats contradict his argument.

We're as hard as them.

Their resting rucks are a concern.

Cox was the matchwinner against the Dogs.

Wow, how bizarre. Put up a bunch of stats that state we are ahead in nearly every facet of the game, and then completely invalidate them.

And they wonder why Lyon's making $2mill a year at Freo and not Eade...

That Eade article is amazing. Bulldog did the right thing sacking him! He has lost the plot. Why have the Gibbs may play still bit in there?

The preview for game is nearly as bad. "Undersized Defense".....Forget about Henderson did they? All the talk about West Coasts tall forwards is crazy. Jack Darling is 1cm taller than Andrew Walker!

All the talk is Eagles, Eagles, Eagles.

Smash them Blues.

Roos really doesn't like us, does he? I couldn't find a similar WC article.

I can't work Roos out. He does like to go into detail on Carlton, positioning for a job? Or just hates us?

Agree Rexy, we'll play with some freedom. If Garlett and Betts are on, and Scotland and Simpson have good games we'll win well.

I had the worst sleep last night, on 3 seperate occasions I had a dream where we lost to West Coke. Now I'm really tired, pissed off and can't wait for us to run right over the top of them. Sick of everyone giving us no chance, sick of the media's ridiculously baseless and superficial "analysis," basically sick of excuses always being made to keep us down, win lose or draw. Each game we get closer to the big day makes it harder and harder for them to explain away. Today will be a top 4 team we beat...what's the next excuse they'll all use?

JUST F**KING SMASH THESE F**KING F**KS FOR F**K'S SAKE!

A lot of people hoping that Cox is out if he is not right and still suspect I hope he is in
I hope kerr is still not right to how long since he has played

Carlton all year have not taken injured players into games its a good sign that we have depth in the list and it is a good sifn that Ratts has faith in that depth

3 big guns out bu I still think this is a far better side than the one that played them last time
