Best move by Ratten yesterday was when he moved Jamison onto Hurley just before 1/4 time when Henderson was given a bath. Jamison destroyed Hurley and it allowed Henderson to play on the resting ruckman and although he was out muscled by Hille in the 3rd quarter he did a good job.

Every now and then you get one right. Hurley was too strong for Hendo, different story with Jamo.

Not sure if anyone has the vision of Robinson's goal in the 2nd?. When Fletcher couldn't catch him, he made a valiant and brave attempt to trip him by hand.

Speaks volumes about the type of person he is.

I noticed Fletcher had really strange body language on Sunday.

That goal put us 15-odd points up, so it was hardly panic stations just yet for the Bombers, but Fletcher's response was one of not frustration, anger or passion, rather a lack of any real emotion at all. Theres a difference between being stoic and just void of any emotion whatsoever. He looked defeated.

You would expect a player of his experience and standing to really rally the troops and try to fire them up when we were surging, but none of their senior players did. Not even McVeigh (probably mentally and emotional drained, which is fair). There was a compliance, almost. Only Stanton showed some fight.

I'm loathe to write off a legitimate champion of the game in Fletcher, but sometimes the end comes very quickly.

The last thing their club wants to get is overly sentimental. It will only hold back Essendon*'s young defenders and take up a valuable spot in their backline. I'm sure Fletcher doesn't want to be given games on charity, nor languish in the VFL in his final year.

I noticed something similar a few goals after that. One of our players bumped/elbowed him after a goal as they took their positions again, and he just sort of took it like a bitch, no fight in him at all.

He always plays well against us, when their winning or losing. If they don't want him we could use him on a wing/hb flank. Problem is they expect him to be like Marc Murphy, and he cops it due to lack of decent midfielders around him.

Also I love the they will be better in 2-3 years, how and why? I think sneaking into the 8 next year (similar to this year) is as good as they could hope for, maybe a finals win if they are super lucky. Thing is, next year they wont be running on the adrenalin of God having returned to the club. They will finish in the 8-12 region.

It wouldn't surprise if the Scum miss the Eight altogether next year...

Freo, Norf and even the Tiggers have more potential improvement than they do

As I said earlier he looked very Mick Martinesque on Sunday - and that attempt to trip Robinson in the second quarter whilst Robinson was running into goal just shows how far he has dropped off since the drawn game earlier in the year.

Funny I thought you could be cited for attempted tripping.

Hopefully their deluded Board and Supporters will think they are close to opening a premiership window with that list and will try to "top up" rather than go for youth in - this should ensure a few more years down the shitter where they belong.

Will the supporters have the patience for a huge fundraising campaign as well a rebuild of the list.?

People usually give money when they believe they are on the right track and this usually entails winning on field.

Looking at what they've done this year I think they've stuffed up by making this an issue about Matty Knights coaching. So if the team doesn't perform, who get's the blame? Only the clubs most revered player and Thompson.

At least when Ratt's came the supporters realised our list was really just hopeless and incremental improvements are the best we could hope for. Most supporters realised it wasn't all Pagans fault. They' made the target two coaches, we made the targets a CEO and a footy playing GOD.

I look forward to the pre-season report's from the Bombers "we've never been fitter" "our knew fitness coach is a genius" "Kyle Reimers looks forwrd to new role in midfield".

I will swallow all the false hopes andthey will be delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's not used to playing on an opponent. Hasn't done so much over the last 5 years. Same thing happened last time Robbo played on him. He also hates body contact.

My son is at school with his son. He's a nice guy. I haven't had a lot to do with him myself but he and his sons are very friendly and decent.

Also his 2 boys are the closest you can get to definite father-son selections under the age of 10. The older one is probably over 10 now but they can roost the ball very long distances .

IMO Essendon* only finished 8th because Freo were ruined by injuries and Norf just aren't quite there yet.

Freo will be back in finals next year and I think Norf might get 8th spot. I thought Norf were more consistent than Essendon* this year.

And Bwuce went on about how Fletcher "nearly caught him"

I downloaded Uncanny X-men "Work" because it reminds me of beating Essendon*.
