Yep - i heard they found out he was talking to GWS....

He was the first person i thought of when Ratten came out in public saying he wasnt going to play guys that had been speaking to gws..

Shattered after how much faith Rats put in him and built him up to where he is today.. I wasnt a fan of his when he started but he really turned it on and it will be disappointing if he decides to go... or Carlton now nudge him out...

Re: JR

A couple of posters on BF, who have been both early and correct with JR info in the past, both say he is definitely staying at Carlton.
I wouldn't worry.

Did you think of him when he played seniors 2 weeks ago?

It's all very tetchy around here at the moment. Why? We won the game after all - beat the bummers in front of 90 @#$%&! thousand people :smoking: .

My 2 cents worth is that it's strange that he was 'omitted' after having so much confidence shown in him over the previous 3 years.

Very strange indeed :sly: .

When he got called up I was wrapt coz at least I may have been wrong and what I heard incorrect!

I am no different to anyone else when I say I want him to stay!
But if that's the penance he may have paid for 'potentially' talking to gws so be it..

It would be an interesting line to take if those assumption on Russell were correct. Being contracted next year means the GWS can't touch him until next year. But because they CAN still take un contracted players up to the end of 2012 so JR would be eligible for them. So if we were making a stand on a player talking to GWS, we're doing it a long way out from the end of his contract.

Adam White (the sports journo, not the old number 30) tweeted :

"GWS chief executive Dale Holmes tells @RSNSportRadio there will be no more uncontracted players signed from other clubs this year..."

JR IMO is gawn to GC

Hear me out

# NOT GETTING GAMES AND M.DAVIES IS
# PLAYS AS EMERGENCY THEN IS OMITTED AND NOT EVEN ON EMERGENCY LIST

Then I ask myself, why did they send him to the Gold Coast to get some special treatment?

Maybe he wasn't there for treatment but there to check out the facilities at metricon and discuss contracts.

With the club knowing Rusty will be off at seasons end they then have some more $$$$$ freed up to secure Murphs signature which happened around that time.

Long shot but possible.

Question is - What do you get for a player that came 2nd in B&F and barely played a game this year.

To be honest, If JR has even been thinking of leaving after all the faith that Ratts and the club has put into him then good residence I say!
